Lynchs is only temporarily closed as there's renovation work going on on the upper floor at the moment, far as I know the intention is to reopen the pub ground level

Many of these closed pubs all over Ireland were great meeting places for communities and yes some people drank too much but so many benefited from the crack & chats / slagging etc with others in their community.

Now so many pubs are gone especially the last pubs in towns/villages theres a massive lack of social interactions for a lot of old school types which is causing huge loneliness which has become a health issue in itself .

The unnecessary changes to the driving legislation brought in by Lord Ross was the biggest factor in the demise of these pubs especially in rural Ireland . You are correct . These little places were hubs where locals had their few pints and put the world to right.

Now we have weed and a cocaine trade run by a certain ethnic group and derelict pubs .

Traded under at least two other names since this image was taken, was most recently a cafe/bike shop, now empty.

Not fifty yards from the above, I can't recall the name this traded under, it's been closed many years now. Currently a health centre.

Closed five years or more now, upstairs in the shopping centre so had a lift for access. I never had the pleasure, sadly.
