I definitely think we deserved it in 2010 but my reference to stumbling over the line was the manner of it. Down had beat Kerry in a pretty big surprise but I thought Cork were a level above that having been knocking on the door a few years, on the back of the Dublin win and probably better quality in a lot of positions. Was mid way through the second half before we took the lead proper.

Really dished out some hammerings in 2012 alright but the athletic edge we had over a lot of teams was probably matched by Donegal and didn’t know how to play their system as you say. 2009 for me is a bitter one. An all-Ireland is an alll-Ireland but would happily swap that in for 2010.

Derry's main jersey was White back then, they use red as their main jersey now

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Seadin

I know that, but I would have thought any colour clashes would be changed regardless.

Managed to grab some tickets through my club secretary. Very very little remaining for the county allocation, interested to see how many become available later today

Fahy a loss but Kevin O'Donovan has done well when coming on in previous games. McSweeney subbed before HT last week so maybe fortunate to start again. Will need big performances from our subs again, 3 weeks in a row bound to tell

Timely article here as Mick McCarthy was Captain of Cork when Derry beat us in the All Ireland Final in 1993.

    Its a very good piece

a joke that the game wasn't moved to accommodate cork, a joke whats going on between the gaa and the camogie association , i would love to know if john carmody the clare manager offered cork a game tomorrow , i highly doubt he did , lets just say he can be an incredibly negative and stubborn man almost like a certain mister Fitzgerald

Ladies footballers drawn away to Armagh in 1/4 finals.

Joke the camogie is on before the hurling next week, €50 a ticket and any decent one long gone to supporters of the mens games.

Hard to know how today's game will plan out. We are capable of beating Derry I feel but will fatique set in for 3 week in a row?

Nobody is giving Cork a chance, I just hope they get a performance going and see where that gets us?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,175 ✭✭✭munsterlegend

Monaghan didn't seem to have any issues with fatigue today compared to Armagh. Need a good start. Derry are a good team.buy can be opened up. They barely beat an average Armagh team in Ulster final so certainly nothing to fear.

On the Road to Croker, more in hope than expectation. We've a chance if we get it right on the day.

I really hope we make the game as competitive as the second game yesterday, rather than the first.

Ref is giving a **** load of soft frees to Derry

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Ref killed all our momentum at the start and gave Derry the momentum with cheap frees.

We don't seen to have anybody that wants to take a shot and everyone are too far out all the time.

As it stands we seem to have no idea at all on how to break through their lines. We do finish games strongly but hopefully its not over by then.

    Absolutely woeful shots from Cork

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭Cork2021

Not helping with our shooting but ref has been shocking! Taking his time with fouls on our side and blows immediately for Derry

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭Seadin

He's a bloody disgrace. Cork players are nearly wrestled to the ground before he blows.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭Cork2021

  • Registered Users Posts: 962 ✭✭✭thefa

We seem happy enough to foul them on turnovers but the refs blowing anytime a Derry players goes over.

Shooting is desperate but still in it. As much as we could have asked for with the performance so far. If we can execute a few opportunities to be more direct in the second half, there’s a chance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭Cork2021

Hurley needs to come soon. I’d give the starting 15 10 more mins then start making changes

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

How the hell was that not a free? O Driscoll was pulled back and went for a shot but it went wide. That was a blatant free.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,542 ✭✭✭The White Feather

That goal has killed us id say. As well as this ref who has swung it by about at least 5 points to Derry and the game isn't over yet

Cork footballers have been breaking our hearts for years. They can't pass a ball without kicking it to the opposition. Kerry or Dublin will destroy Derry. We are better off out. We were never good enough.
