Maybe it was and the difference was pId to NK.

I haven't watched a toy show in well over a decade. Once Tubridy took the helm, I watched one or two, and noped out.

Between his bullying of the kids, and making it essentially about 'him', I was just over it.

My mum and brother would watch it occasionally, and then I'd see people on twitter talking about how the show 'left them bawling crying'... sorry, but wasn't the whole point of the show to be uplifting? He'd have some family on, and then there'd be the sad story that 'you spent last Christmas in hospital-didn't ya?' and Ryan would just revel in the misery.

The whole Toy Show was meant to be this 'joyous' occasion, and Tubridy turned it into misery porn, like he always did.

It's basically a nostalgia trip for parents that grew up in the 80s and 90s to foist on the kids...with the matching pygamas, treat boxes etc. The performances etc. are for them more than the kids

How the heck is this thread getting so much much attention? when there is so much bigger issues facing the country? but yet you're focused over 345 thousand to some idiot, time to focus on more important things than some TV clown!

Do you remember when RTÉ-favourite (🙄🤣) Donald Trump said in the run up to the 2026 US Presidential Election that he could walk down 5th Avenue in NY and shoot (and kill) someone and people would still vote for him? Well I think the Tubs fanboys are made of similar stuff.

Imagine if that car was loaned to a high profile member of the NUJ who covers a lot of miles for their job?

What if this car borrower is actually a very popular personality in their own right, especially with a certain section of the population?

What if this car borrowing is not this person's first rodeo? They might have had a luxury marque in years gone by but for the last 5 years it was a Renault. Better than nothing, thinks this person. But now, even this car is quickly returned and it's hand in one's own pocket time.

Effing Tubridy, thinks this very well known, not young staffer.

The thing I find particular egregious, galling, and wasteful is when RTE Commercial are spending our money is they never seem to even pretend to seek value for it. Suppliers seem to know there’s “an RTÉ-premium” for goods and RTÉ seem more than happy to pay it.

Take the purchase of the 200 flip flops - not justifying that purchase btw, just want to use it as an example. It seems they paid pretty close to full whack on those. The Junior purchasing person in my place of work would negotiate the hell out of that price and get them a lot cheaper than RTÉ did. There’s also btw a Havianas pop up that opens in Kildare Village every summer…..surely they could go direct to whoever operates that and do a deal there?

Again on radio this (waste and value for money) has been discussed more than once. RTÉ Commercial’s Department seems to live a Gucci lifestyle on Del Boy trading practices, but as long as we’re picking up the tab, they don’t care.

When discussing contracts yesterday still using the words "talent" and "top talent".

Just nauseating, and a symptom of how out of step the whole organisation is.

Don’t agree with that at all, the state should pull out of RTE and scrap the license fee and let them stand on their own two feet, as oLeary said she brought in big money with her corporate gigs, CFO stated he was doing a great job, they stated they have great talent in RTE like RT etc who get under the counter deals etc. in our house yesterday the television wasn’t turned on and the 4 of us used the internet instead how many households are the same, we are paying for sky sports and only use RTE for sports. As for PAC asking the ministers brother any hard questions, you have to remember firstly ah sure he’s in the job go easy and let him off.

Surly to god when these guys get to Dail or the holiday camp they would get help in how to speak and how to present themselves at the likes of these committees and look someways professional. They are representatives of the people who elected them. If I had vote for Mattie or this Louth fella I would be disappointed how they portrayed themselves.

He turned the toy show in been all about him. He had to wear 2-3 jumpers, he had to sign in the show. It was all about how great he was

Previously it was all about the kids and the toys, now it was all about how great they could make Tubs look.

He was particularly annoying on the Toy Show. The last show said it all when he tried to make out he knew all the kids from previous shows. Did he think anyone actually believed that sh*t?

Why would anybody use the Convention Centre for a musical ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,136 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

It can be turned into a theatre \ music venue, and I guess the usual venues at christmas are booked up.

It's a crowded market in December with the usual pantos, Snowman type concerts etc etc

It's the media training for Sinn Fein. They are all the same. A while ago it was just Pearse but they all act now with the fake outrage etc. As soon as she was finished Sinn Fein had already started to flood social media with it

She lost her point loads of time when she was trying to act outraged and then scoffing at the person before they could answer. Going off about bringing her husband to the canteen? she lost the run of herself and the bit of media attention.

The point she was trying to make was a good one as I said at the time, if she just asked it and waited for an answer. Her performance first time around was better but as I mention I think she got the reaction because of the way she acted "Oh she is taking no bulls**t" and tried to turn it up a few notches and it failed.

Did the children in the musical have to be paid? If not there’s a cost saving measure for rtes day to day running.

There's a bit more to getting a forklift training centre approved than ensuring that there are 4 walls and a roof. She was to observe the premises and all of the activities carried out there as part of the assessment of the centre to see were they adhering to the correct criteria for a forklift training centre. This included her assessing the theory end of the course. That's why I mentioned that she sat in at the back of the class for a section of the theory we were doing.

Now forgive me please if this comment is incorrect..... Looking at the tripartite agreement (unsigned by RTE) the docusign signatures appear to be in the same handwriting. When I had to do a docusign set up in work I had to submit my signature as a/for facsimile.

Am I over thinking this? Or is it all fine?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,374 ✭✭✭Higgins5473

Only to be expected seeing as Sinn Féin have been on the receiving end of either negative publicity or totally shunned by what is supposed to be a state broadcaster representing all of its people. This has continued strong as ever even when they became the political party with the largest support. I agree, she’s probably wallowing in the attention and is aware of the TikTok snippets doing the rounds but why not, she’s not making any defamatory remarks or wild sweeping statements without any basis. She’s exposing what are inept, egotistical golden circle elites which is at the heart of what is wrong with Ireland so fair play to her. A lot of that oireachtas committee aren’t pulling the punches they should be for obvious reasons so I’m glad somebody is.

DocuSign allows you to use a generated signature without uploading a copy of your signature. There are some alternatives to DocuSign. The important things on that agreement are the dates.
