Halfords informed me that non of their shops in Ireland are fitting them at the moment.

Any recommendations of where to get one fitted around Dublin and is there such as thing as s combined dash cam and reversing camera?

    Thanks.

What car is it, and how old? Has your car got reversing sensors? If not, I'd honestly take sensors over a camera most of the time - they actually provide an audible warning rather than you having to look for it yourself.

OEM might be expensive, but depending on the car you might get additional features like Cross Traffic Alert and Trailer Hitch Assist, and automatic braking.

You can also often buy the OEM camera from the dealer and have a third party fit it. If its a nice car, nothing looks worse than a badly fitted reversing camera in my opinion.

To be honest, I have no real interest in having gadgets in my car, the car I have has lane assist but that's it in regard to gadgets, my daughter drives a Merc and it nearly drives itself it's very impressive, so it got me thinking of getting some of the gadgets for my car.

    Try Airtasker.

It's an app where you can put up a job and people respond.

What car and what year? Did you buy it recently?

Adding a third party reversing camera to a new car may void your warranty (not that it should by the way, but it may be hard to argue your case with a manufacturer if you have a potentially electrically related problem). Some installers are less than professional to put it mildly.

For example, if you were to ask an installer to fit an OEM camera, the part itself might cost a bit more but will look and function just like it came with the car, and the parking lines should match up exactly with where the car will go.

As for a Dashcam, I recently bought one of these, and it's absolutely excellent.

It's 2022 Hyundi i10 not a bad little car, I got a very good deal on it but wasn't my first choice.

Main thing is that your car is still in warranty, and will be for years to come. Just be a little careful of adding something which could need a bit of wiring done.

Do you have a large or small screen on the dashboard? If it's the large 8" screen, then you should be able to get something fitted which links into the screen when you put the car in reverse.

If you have a small screen, I'd recommend something like below. Not this specific model necessarily, but if it looks like something you'd be happy with, post back and I can look at some reviews for the best option in your budget.

It clips over your existing mirror, and gives Front and Rear Dashcam, and also a reversing camera. The screen is normally a mirror finish, but when the screen is on you can see it through the glass. It can be wired into the fusebox, and then a second wire run through the headlining to the boot opening.

If you're based in Dublin, I can recommend Vitronix.ie who might be able to fit it or suggest something similar.

I have a 2023 i10 Deluxe Plus, comes with reverse camera. However, they removed the sensors, which were a whole lot more useful for parking in tight spots.

Anyway, what I wanted to suggest is to see if you could source and fit official Hyundai gear in your i10. Might be more expensive, but likely the best match for your car. Just what @kirving said above.
