Does anyone know why Molly (Neil Molloy) is missing for the last 3 or 4 weeks?

Could have got a job in RTÉ and has to take time out to open a number of bank accounts for all the various payments to be lodged into ?

Ollie Turner has done a few shows solo and has been shown up as being useless on his own. His 'jokes' really fall flat without Mollie there to bounce off.

Both of them are useless, surprised they get anyone to tune in.

    • A person who with ditties and stories can get our listeners to forget that traffic is a drag.

    😀😀

Does he still do PLUGGED IN with Neil Molloy Thursday 7-8pm or is he gone from that too?

This is “Mollie’s” 2nd time to leave that show. He left it originally several years ago and returned about 4 years ago (I think it was a little while before covid).

They lost another daytime presenter last year in seemingly sudden circumstances too.

I have heard on more than one occasion that the owners/management in there aren’t the nicest to work for. Could be coincidence… or not.

The new morning show host will be Garry Curran.

It goes to show you how important it is to follow HR procedure. A quick google shows the CEO's background is HR so he knew how to play the game and according to the news papers he suspended Mollie pending investigation. After that your investigation can be a token or sham one which sounds like it was, but that's all you need. My reading is he was constructively dismissed but because the CEO knew how to do it he got away with it. Firing someone on the spot puts you off side even if they are caught with the hands in the till.

Another take away is don't accept an allowance like a fuel card unless its written into a contract. Something like that can be taken away without any consequences which happened here with the new CEO.

And my final contribution, €52k is a pretty terrible salary when he was told he couldn't work elsewhere which is where DJ's make their money. I understand he was travelling from Kinegad everyday which is a 300k round trip each day leaving home at a crazy hour.

On the radio industry, its a tough one, an ex presenter Allan Clarke mentioned he couldn't afford to rent in galway from his Galway Bay FM breakfast show salary. Also listened to a good podcast from Phil Cawley who reckons Today FM pay their weekend DJ's less than €150 a day shift and its all contract work.

Posts regarding traffic deleted, do not derail the thread when there is a thread for the same topic, thank you

Verbal assault is not acceptable! I'm sure there had to be witnesses, so I wouldn't call it a witch hunt.

    Verbal assault doesn't exist.

There's no need to be pedantic on a random local radio thread, this isn't legal nor is legal advice sought or allowed.

52K for a job in a local radio station is good money. Though I can see why the withdrawal of a fuel card for someone driving that distance would basically make the job non viable.

What is considered a verbal assault?

Verbal assault is the use of threatening, abusive, intimidating or insulting language which is likely to cause fear, harassment, alarm or distress or which aims to provoke violence.

    Any help to you?
