    Hey all,

just wondering what you think is a fair price for my existing build is.

    I’m upgrading to the 4080 + 5800X3D (already owned) .

With the size of this GPU and how small my case is. I am thinking it’s just better to cut my loses and sell it on as a package.

I was initially thinking of just upgrading individual parts e.g. case, fans, cooler etc but I’m thinking it might be a hassle selling them on adverts. I’m thinking it would easier to sell as a complete build

    Thanks!

€400 I suppose but put it up for €450 so looks like they got 50 off. What figure were you thinking? CPU and GPU are old now which is why it is not worth that much and MB is getting on too.

Why didn't you just upgrade the BIOS to use 5800X3D in the same motherboard?

I am using the 5800X3D at the moment in this setup. I upgraded from a 2700x a while ago (I kept the 2700x)

However, I am now looking to upgrade the 2070 to a 4080 while using the 5800X3D. This upgrade means I need a new PSU and case.

I was just wondering if it made financial sense to sell my build with the 2700x and make a new AM4 build using my 5800X3D

I was hoping for 600-700 but that was probably wishful thinking. It seems the prices on Facebook marketplace/adverts are all over the place.

Definitely wishful thinking. I would put it up for €500 and see what happens after that.

The big issue I think is that in the 2nd hand market things like expensive CPU cooler, expensive case, etc don't really have much impact on the price you can command. People who do appreciate these things typically don't buy 2nd hand.

I would consider keeping your case, PSU, board and CPU cooler for a new build.

Replace with a €50 case, €50 PSU, A320M/B450M mobo, and stock cooler. The sale price you'll get for the core build of 2700X/2070 will be pretty much the same but at least you'll save a packet of money on building your new machine.

Personally I would just upgrade your GPU and stick with your current machine as there's nothing wrong with it at all. Should be fairly easy to sell an RTX2070 for €200 or so and you'd have zero hassle overall.
