    Hi,

I'm curious as a frequent walker of the canal if anyone has spoken to the "engineers" in charge/overseeing the Greenway works between Leixlip Confey and Louisa Bridge?

There is a long stretch shortly after the Royal Canal Amenity Group that runs from Leixlip Confey to Louisa Bridge. It was closed in October 2022 for works and was meant to remain that way for three months. No surprise things were not completed on time. Interestingly enough the engineers working on the upgrades (laying tarmac) seem to work intermittently hence the slow progress.

Anyway in order to prevent people from using the towpath for the foreseeable future they've went and removed the wiring fence and installed 10 foot high fences so they must be planning on staying down there for another year or two.

Anyone happen to know anything about this project and when it is finally going to be finished.
