We need to be scoring those chances

Great to see people travelled today. Long queues at the stands getting in. Don't think they were expecting so many.

Brilliant performance from an outstanding bunch of girls - skill and pace combined with dogged aggression - deserving of every plaudit they receive - also well done to Sean Power and his back room - another all Ireland final for him

  • Registered Users Posts: 488 ✭✭Ropaire

Probably be underdogs in the final but ya have to be in it to win it. Beth Carton is some player.

well done to the camogie girls. Fantastic stuff

fair play Sean Power aswell. His record with Waterford teams is phenomenal in fairness to him

Amazing stuff. Great crowd. Great management. Great team. AMAZING attitude.

Fantastic win particularly after a terrible start. They will be big underdogs in the final against either Cork or Galway but hopefully they can oull off a big upset. Hope there is a big crowd there to support them

Brilliant win and my God it was hard fought. Lived dangerously at the back at times but excellent heart, spirit and skill shown by these wonderful women. Beth Carton is class.

Well done to everyone involved. Serious record of reaching finals shown by Sean Power and his management team, he seems to have the X factor

Well done to all involved with Waterford Camogie, an historic day and just rewards for all the excellent work that has been going on in camogie in the county in the last few years. Excellent performance but a little nail biting in the end. Beth carton is some bit of stuff. As some one said Sean power has some record of getting teams to all Ireland finals, please god he will win his third in two weeks time. Hopefully a big crowd will travel from Waterford

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,384 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

What a day for the Waterford ladies

First off well done to the Footballers who beat Cavan 1-20- 0-08 to survive relagation from Senior level

Huge congratulations on the brilliant win for the camoige team in Kilkenny. We were slow getting too grips to the game but we fought and fought thankfully getting over the line. All Ireland finals don't come around too often and let's hope everyone in the county gets behind the team on August 6th. We beat Cork already this season and won't fear them

Sean Power.... as an outsider i have noticed this guy seems to have a bit of a magic when it comes to training teams and getting them to perform.... comes across as a very quiet humble man... absolutely no airs or graces... so why hasnt he got the big job yet??

  • Registered Users Posts: 187 ✭✭Deiselurker

Good question and a lot of fans here wonder about that too. Great win today in bad weather conditions. Great support too and hopefully an even bigger crowd travel in 2 weeks. Great spirit shown as we looked in big trouble 7 points down midway through first half but were the better team from then on and deserved winners.

Nice to come out of a game on the winning side wearing a waterford top !

Fantastic performance, particularly 2nd half ground out the win.

Beth Carton is different gravy, vikki falconer, Lorraine bray were outstanding as well.

Great team performance when it was badly needed in tough conditions.

Hopefully it all comes together in croker.

    Well done !

He was overlooked for the job when they gave it to Paraic Fanning which turned out to be a Jokeshop of a decision

From what we saw today it's hard to see us getting near that Limerick team next year esp going up there

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,058 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

maybe in an all ireland but they showed to be flakey in munster and there for the taking , ye were not exactly a million miles off them yerselves in thurles last April

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,058 ✭✭✭windy shepard henderson

qustion for ye , is there any team to take on ballygunner this year , i know de la salle is the closest but surly some one can get closer then ten points to them this year , and i am not talking about the second team either

its bad for waterford hurling to have such top heavy dominance , in the dark days of clare football kilmurry ibrickane dominated so much they had there second team nearly senior and in all ireland club finals , we could barely muster a win in the league against london or lilkenny at the time

it dose no good for a county to have a master and several slaves at club level , it has to be balanced

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,384 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Mount Sion have a very experienced management team this year and are stopping Ballygunner from the all time record in titles in a row

Seems Ballygunner are hard at it since early spring and going to take some stopping

Word going round is if they win the Premier Intermediate they'll have 2 Senior teams in the Championship in 2024

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,259 ✭✭✭Mastermcgrath

Can you see any team getting near them and stopping the 5 in a row

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,541 ✭✭✭Asdfgh2020

How actually good are kk though. 6 pts up at 47/48 mins and then lost by 9.not what you would expect from a kk team. Once reid retires it will have have an impact also. Also yesterday throwing in Richie hogan late on wasn’t a sign of a strong panel with new players.

Ye have short memories. Limerick were a point away from going out in Munster v Cork, we threw away a brilliant chance to beat them and we're **** like. Clare beat them and a poor Tipp team drew with them too. Galway and Kilkenny didn't offer much against them but Munster is dog eat dog.

Agreed, the way you stop them is to stop them in Munster. They won't be beaten once they get to Croke Park.

That penalty decision in the Cork game was crucial. Cork really should have won that game and knocked them out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,541 ✭✭✭Asdfgh2020

If we had ‘downed tools’ v Tipp and took a hiding as everyone predicted they were gone also. And we’d be rid of davey also…🤣🤣

That was passed at convention this year, Ballysaggart proposed it. If Ballygunner win the premier intermediate championship this year they will indeed have 2 senior teams in 2024.

Supposedly felt Ballygunner could dominate the premier intermediate grade for many years if they weren’t to be promoted. Think it’s the same if their juniors win the junior a, they go up to intermediate.

I think if they won it a number of years in a row it could be looked at again, but having 2 teams from the 1 club at senior is not a good look. Especially considering we only have 12 senior teams as it is. With Ballysaggart, Ballyduff Lower, Clashmore & Shamrocks all missing key players this season it could well be that Ballygunner win it. Ferrybank & Cappoquin probably in the best position to challenge them. Capppquin with the addition of Tourin will surely be strong, provided they get the balance right.

To paraphrase Mark in the Bible .... "a prophet is never recognised in his own land" (or in this case, by the county board).

Travelling down to Waterford on Friday ... will take in Mount Sion match ; I hear Aussie is fit and well so looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.

Ballygunner beating Tramore 17-13 to 1-3 in an u13 Division match the other night makes for grim reading on a number of fronts
