Fertilizer bags - reuse

You’d be surprised how many lads empty them from the top with a bucket. Even if you cut the bottom of them they are useful for putting the likes of meal bags and other fertiliser bags and spray drums into for recycling after you tie the bottom of them.

You could always get one of those fertiliser dispensers where you put the bag down on top of it, it has a shut off lever so you don’t have to use all the bag at one time, they’re about 160-200 euros i think.

You don't need to cut a big hole. A fairly small hole will still empty it in a couple of minutes....much quicker than a bucket and would still hold a lot of things.

You’ll have to empty the plastic out of them. The recycling place will take the fert bags, but not mixed with plastic. I suppose if you got the full bag of plastic lifted onto a trailer, you could just slash it open with a knife.

I looked at an auger type system before but it's a slow process. Most lads wouldn't stand around for the (approx?) 40 minutes it might take to do transfer from the bag to spreader.
