halfords do sell cheap bikes, but they are cheap for a reason, check out the shops above first, as sometimes you can get a great bargain, and sometimes a far better quality bike, and of course, you get to support local businesses....

O'Mahony's Cycles in Dungarvan is the only place I know of locally that do second hand stock.

OP: most bike shops will usually have a small stock of second bikes, taken in as trade-ins, which will be decent quality and have some kind of warranty/aftersales back-up.

Better to buy a reputable secondhand bike than a chain-store boat-anchor/gate with wheels.

they probably did to a degree, but the resale value has always been terrible, my own was 3k new, even though its a few years old now, and well used, id be lucky to get a couple of hundred for it....

wouldnt go out on anything cheaper tbh, its more about safety than anything else, had a go of a 6k bike a few months ago, want two of them now....

nothing wrong with much cheaper bikes for most, but when you re pushing on....
