Palm oil - have you heard of it?

Today I've eaten my last small kinder chocolate bar. They're the only junk food I have and I've had the splendid habit of eating one every morning. But that will all have to stop now as they contain palm oil as an ingredient.

I won't say that's it's in everything, but it's basically in any junk food, as well as other things that we buy on a daily basis. These include makeup, pizza, chocolate, ice-cream, washing up liquid, soap, toothpaste, shower gels, and shaving foam. Basically the more you treat your body like s***, the more you are responsible for burning down the rain forest, as well as human trafficking. Other substitute oils include rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, and coconut oil, but these require roughly 7 times the acreage to yield the same amount, making making palm oil ridiculously cheap.

A 15 year study as been conducted that has proven that ethically produced sustainable palm oil has actually cleared more acres of rain forest than than the non-certified kind. Also, any time palm oil is purchased it's next to impossible to trace where it's come from.

It is quite disgusting to see that on the WWF website they give the following advice as a solution.

    https://www.wwf.org.uk/updates/8-things-know-about-palm-oil

"The best thing we can do is support sustainable palm oil and avoid boycotts, since we know substitutions with other vegetable oils can lead to even further environmental and social harm"

That makes no sense. The best advice to stopping this issue is to simply stop consuming like crazy, buying stupid stuff that we don't need.
