Honda 50 restoration

Hi all, looking to get rough estimate on cost to restore this family heirloom. It's starts but I have no idea mechanically so I would be doing very little work myself. thanks in advance

I did a restoration of a family Motorcycle that was in similar condition to this.

Parts alone came to €4000 - 5000, but I spent about €1000 on just the Charging system and it took me about a year to complete.

It was roughly €1000 on the paint work

This still would be the guts of that though, then once you add labour on, you're talking far too much Money.

Thats a great job.

The little bit of research I've done would agree with you're estimate. I hoped to be able to do some but paint and parts alone make it not really worth it.

Thank you! I went in with little knowledge of what I was doing, so was all a learning curve.

It could be worth doing piece by Piece, so it would take much longer, but you might enjoy it more, I approached the whole thing as Lego for Adults.

You could do a cheaper job if the idea was to not ride it and have it as a display piece.

Soda blast the engine and then fill and repaint the fairing with spray.

But the paint job will dissolve if the laquer isn't correct and petrol fumes get near it.

Yeah have the book. It's very good. There is a few good videos on YouTube. I'll give it a bit more thought but these are going very cheap 2nd hand so not sure if it's worth the cost.
