Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wolves are leaving Bissaka free every time Onana has the ball so tnat they can play it to him. And that’s a brain dead tackle from Martinez.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Thought they said a decision would be made last week, might gave missed it.

Pros and cons but I reckon he will stay there at this stage.

Nothing has been released to say either way so no-one outside the club actually knows.

Only guesses and opinions from people ATM.

Wolves with the better chances here

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

30 gone and Wolves are well in this could even be ahead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭doc_17

United will want to keep Greenwood, there’s no doubt about that. But they are just trying to see if they can keep him and save face as well.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,016 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

Reckon they would have released him by now if not keeping. They’ll wait for some other controversy and try put it out alongside it

Even if they decide he won’t play for them again they won’t release him, they could sell him to a club in the Middle East. They wouldn’t care out there about his past.

Fairly poor first half. I know its their first game but there are a lot of players whose first touches are no where near good enough. Garnacho has been particularly poor. Wolves are causing a fair few problems but you feel a mistake by them could well lead to the first goal.

    Half day for the butcher.

    Take off at half time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭doc_17

    Shocking miss.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Really should have buried that.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Ran through the middle of United again. They need to actually take one of these chances now.

Wolves have cut through United several times but you just feel one Wolves mistake will allow Untied take the lead.

Surely some drama to come in the last 20.

    Wolves must be sickened

Fernandes started it, nice lobbed pass, AWB did well and Varane tucked it away. Didn't score last year, so he's a happy boy.

They should be but only have themselves to blame.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,016 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

Far from an impressive performance from United. That defence will leak goals to better teams

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Tahith Chong thinking he still plays for United it seems.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

He’ll get away with that assault, because he’s a keeper.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,016 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

    That’ll be a penalty

Edit - surprised they looked at it a few times and let it off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,672 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

    Cleaned him out .

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 23,217 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kiith

    Surely a peno.

Fucking nonsense. What are they looking at?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Awful decision

    Had to be a pen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,748 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Check VAR's back account, that's absurd.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,016 Mod ✭✭✭✭GoldFour4

Keepers really get away with nonsense.

Can assault an attacker like Onana there or else get away with a fumble like that Fulham goalie yesterday

    Lol decision that

  • Registered Users Posts: 981 ✭✭✭earthwormjack

That's a penalty all day. What a joke of a decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,504 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Wolves robbed, but they only have themselves to blame for not winning this. Should be two or three clear at this stage.

Could be a season without Man United or Liverpool in the top 4 if the last 24 hours are anything to go by.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,930 ✭✭✭KH25

That’s a shambolic call from VAR. Completely wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,410 ✭✭✭facehugger99

    What a cowardly decision.

    100% a penalty.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

United were absolutely hanging on in the end but will be a lot happier with the result than the performance.

Wolves created some amount of chances in fairness but not a single one taken.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,106 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

First game and all that but Casemiro looked 10 years older. Wolves created chance after chance after chance via running straight through the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,365 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

You have to laugh at that not being a penalty.

Wolves have only themselves to blame as they should've scored without the help of a penalty. But my God.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,499 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

This exact thing came up in Wolves first game last season (against them that time), and here was a reason it wouldn't be given...

It's a good sign when you can play crap and still win the game.

Always great to get 3 points on the first weekend. Hopefully the results continue while the performance improves.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

The fact the ref wasn’t asked to even look for himself on the screen will only lead to further var recriminations and we're only on day 1. Crazy decision by the var official.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,748 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,672 ✭✭✭✭cj maxx

Var didn’t even call me ref to watch it . Bollix

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,499 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

cant expect anything less from referee yes men

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,396 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

United's midfield looked even more porus than Liverpools' yesterday. Lads can just wander through both.

VAR should have microphones on and the TV audience should be included in how they make their decisions.

Without it there’s just questions over how competent these referees are.

  • Registered Users Posts: 237 ✭✭DAngelo Bailey

It's good to know that it's perfectly legal for goalkeepers to assault players.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,239 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

United are gonna need to sort out the supply line to Hojlund when he's fit or he'll be living off scraps. Antony and Garnacho were very poor today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,118 ✭✭✭El Gato De Negocios

Some folk in here have a very broad interpretation of the word assault.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,645 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

There is little question about EPL refereeing competence... Overall they are very poor and consistently make poor calls
