Cork really running away with it, great ladies

Great win but Waterford were shocking. Brutal at this level.

Some third quarter. Hat-trick in 3 minutes by O'Connor.

The way we beat Kilkenny and Galway, there was no way Waterford were stopping us.

A pity for Waterford but it will stand to them in the future.

Some very ignorant comments here re Waterford, anyone that knows anything about Camogie knows that they simply had an off day and are far better than that, absolutely deserved their place in the final and will be there again. A lot of one game a year viewers here it would seem.

I really don't know what they can learn from today's game let's be honest?

The experience of playing in a final, the lead up etc They are developing as a team and will not be playing a team like Cork, in the mood we were in today, very often.

Feel bit sorry for Waterford, but Cork were super.

The cork Ladies are one All Ireland behind our men now at 29 wins.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,544 ✭✭✭Seadin

That's not good enough for an All Ireland final. At one stage I saw the Waterford management talking on the sideline and they were having a laugh with themselves and their team getting beat out the park. I wouldn't be happy if I saw my management team laughing with themselves on the sideline and doing nothing to improve the situation. They came across as people who werent taking the task at hand seriously. They should be no where near an intercounty team if that's the attitude. They can laugh after the final whistle. That's my view on it.

Yeah well Cork are the champions and we deserve to be as well. Fair dues to Waterford on getting to the final, but make no mistake about it, they were out played and out hurled by a far superior Cork team on the day. So perhaps you should play your violin over on the Waterford thread.

Seriously are people actually offended, over someone having the opinion that Waterfords performance in the final was pathetic? I think that's just calling a spade a spade, Waterford offered up no challenge to Cork whatsoever. I honestly think in Waterfords case, that just making it as far as the final was their all Ireland.

Midleton beat the Glen 3-19 to 1-13

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,686 ✭✭✭thesultan

    Are the glen out?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,541 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Yes the Glen and Bishopstown are out. Rockies and Midleton qualified for at least a quarter final

Glen Bishopstown match decides who will be in the relegation final...

    Quick SHC overview:

    Group A

Midleton & Blackrock are through - winner of their game will probably get bye to semi

Bishopstown & Glen play - loser will go to relegation playoff - draw will see Bishopstown in playoff

    Group B

Douglas are through, they play Charleville, Charleville through with a win & maybe a draw

Erins Own v Fr O'Neills winner would go through if Charleville lose to Douglas (If charleville draw a 3rd game it'll come down to points difference)

    Group C

    All still can qualify

Newtown v Sars a straight shootout - winner goes through (Draw sees Sars through)

Bars v Kanturk - If Bars win they are through if Kanturk win - Bars are out but Kanturk not 100% - might come down to score difference

    My Predictions:

    Semi final: Blackrock

Quarter final: Midleton; Douglas; Fr O'Neills; Sarsfields & St Finbarrs

  • Registered Users Posts: 401 ✭✭Innish_Rebel

Sorry - Prediction on relegation final:

    Bishopstown v Erins Own

I was going for Kanturk but Eirns Own @ -11 points difference - they're in a tough spot if they lose to Fr O'Neills they need the bars to hammer Kanturk...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,284 ✭✭✭Cork2021

Group C is very odd! If Kanturk had their shooting half way right they would’ve won both games!! Sars beating The Barrs comfortably enough after the draw with Kanturk and then Newtownsandrum winning Saturday! Calling the Barrs and Kanturk game will be tough. Kanturk probably should’ve started the strongest team and shouldn’t have waited for Aidan walsh to get injured before introducing the likes of Darren Browne and Brian O Sullivan

From the Examiner....Cork are losing a promising player to Australian Football

Ballincollig and Cork U20 footballer Liam O’Connell has signed an AFL contract with St Kilda and will make the move over to Australia in the next fortnight.

News of O’Connell’s AFL switch was revealed by Ballincollig manager Podsie O’Mahony following their Cork Premier SFC win over Carrigaline on Sunday afternoon.

O’Mahony said O’Connell had attracted interest from Carlton and Melbourne in recent weeks and months, but it’s with St Kilda he has signed the dotted line.

    Midleton - Semi finalists

    Sars v Blackrock

    Charleville v Barrs

    Douglas v Imokilly

Kanturk v The Glen relegation playoff

That's a bit of a shock. He had them playing brilliantly. Really injected passion, belief and determination into their play. A real pity.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,644 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Not to speculate but he has had bad health issues. Likely related.

  • Registered Users Posts: 401 ✭✭Innish_Rebel

Really interesting - Credit to Charleville beating Douglas. Erins Own v Fr O'Neills draw made that group super interesting.

The Glen losing to Bishopstown was a bit of a surprise but that will be huge relegation play off for them. We could have a Cork Senior hurling championship without Glen or Na Piarsaigh in the top grade...

Sars Blackrock looks a mouthwatering clash, the Barrs (should) have too much for Charleville. Douglas v Imokilly - very close as well, Imokilly aren't as strong as some previous years but still have a serious squad of players (Castlemartyr getting through in the Prem Int might stretch a few players though)
