Roof ladders

Can these ladders be used as roof ladders ? For light work on dormer roof 2-3 times per year. They're advertised as roof ladders.

Can you link to the ad ?

The hooks look a bit short and flimsy.

Also there's no wheels.

Bottom right hand decal has a CE mark. ROTFL there is no CE certification for ladders. Typical chinese muck they put a CE mark on everything they make.

Doesn't mean they won't do the job but from a practical point of view the hooks are small. Have you thought of using a set of roof hooks attached to ordinary ladders? I use these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MDNGCVK/

Edit: Another thought the higher you go the narrower the tread, there is no stand off from the tread from the roof when the ladders lying on the roof, so you have next to nothing to stand on near the top.

i have one of those style ladders, but without the hooks. it's designed to work under compression, but on a roof the ladder would be working under tension. i wonder if it's been properly designed with that in mind.

just in case people don't know, the CE mark on chinese goods is slightly different from the one required for goods sold in europe; the chinese one is short for 'chinese export' and the european one is short for 'conformitee europeenne'

in theory the clips which prevent the ladder from collapsing under compression probably work for load in both directions, but not something i'd be in a hurry to test in a real world scenario.

I have access to a straight ladder and I'll get those screwfix attachments. That was what I was looking to do initially but long term I'll need to get my own ladder rather than constantly borrowing.

Nope its a deliberate fraud as they also state EN 131 a standard for ladders on the same line and don't use the correct CE format for either "standard".

Those ladders should have the Kite mark, as they will most likely have you flying through the air.

Personally I wouldnt use them for anything over single storey, google telescopic ladder collapse and check out the amazon reviews.
