We live in Barnwell, Hansfield, Dublin 15 and there is planning permission granted for a religious place. We need your help to undo this from a planning perspective. We don't have much time. Currently a Mosque or an Islamic centre is planned to come here in Hansfield, Dublin 15. This will divide our society on a religious basis. Please help us to sign the petition below. We need 1000 signatures to undo this.

Where exactly is this?

What exactly is the rational behind the objections? Churches are built in residential locations. St. Brigid's Church in Blanchardstown is right beside houses and rings bells to call people to mass.

Same with the churches in Castleknock, both protestant and catholic.

What is the problem with this one? The petition doesn't make any sense.

How would it divide your society by it's very presence? Are you against all places of worship being amongst a community or just this one?

Ye nimby types are just the worst. I lived next to house full of mosque going Muslims, never any trouble from them wish I could say the same for my Irish neighbours.

When you have trouble with someone, how do you know they are Irish? An accent doesn't mean much. Im sick of silly generalisations about Irish people causing crime. It isnt based on any statistics.

Besides your petition will achieve SFA. Your chance was during the planning phase - the county development plan is but a few months old.

We need 1000 signatures to undo this.

It was granted planning permission - explicitly as a place of worship - a couple of years ago and is now nearing completion. You could get a million signatures and it won't make any difference.

It looks like they could do with some assistance and funds to help finish the building. Perhaps the local community could do some fund-raising to help them and extend the hands of friendship and welcome which would make adjustment easier.
