    Hi all

I'm interested in joining this society next year.

    what’s the process?

im still relatively new to golf, love it, still learning.

golf is at a premium as we had our first born 5 months ago…is it crazy to consider joining a society?

i would love to get around and meet people but obviously I wouldn’t be around every weekend

    Thanks

Society golf is perfect for people who can't play regularly, so you're not crazy at all! 😊

Outings are pretty much monthly, not weekly.

There's a post in this thread about how to sign up: https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058280130/all-about-the-boards-golf-society-joining-information-and-rules

Yes, we always welcome new members and happy for new golfers to join.

As per AWEC, take a look at Seves Post in the link, it'll give you all the detail you need.

We play monthly, usually trying to aim for the 3rd weekend each month, but need to be a bit flexible as booking outings is getting tougher every year and we're always battling for the best price and quality we can manage for the members

To close out the season here is the GOTY table, sorted by Best 5, followed by Total scored

Congrats to winner Ballyk, a superb year with a worst finish of 12th.

Commiserations to SeveOB on losing on the finest of margins

And a well done to all that made the Jug team

I for one am delighted to have finished the season in the 19th percentile. 😎

Unbelievably tight - and incredibly hard to make that team.

And a fair play to Break80, Pakman and Snackbox who alongside El Capitan were the only people to get to all 8 outings. Amazing commitment

Hey folks, sorry for the long radio silence, we managed to get a house near Arklow and I haven't played golf since May and haven't been able even to log into boards.

Hopefully it will be a different story next year, need to start practising and playing soon

Best of luck in the Jug!!

Now that i'm out of the Kingdom, I'm going to miss the 4+ hour drive for every round this year...any chance all the vents can be in Kerry/Donegal? 🤣

Think the plan was to have 4 of the 8 events in Ring Of Kerry 😉

With the 2024 thread now open I think we can call a close to the 2023 thread, thanks all
