Watching the euro tour today, Jose has really dropped down in form. Scrapping past Nico Kurz with a 87 avg

Willie O Connor got to top 16 of PC13 yesterday, only Irish player to make an impact. He is just outside the qualification places for the Matchplay so could do with a run in PC14 today. cut off for Matchplay qualification is 9th July. I believe Willie is also in the last eligibile event ranking wise the Euro Tour event at end of June.

In the 5 development tour events at the weekend Dylan Slevin had a couple of good runs but is still a good bit behind the 2 pace setters Gian van Veen and Luke Littler

O Connor goes out in L64 stage. Not great at all for his Matchplay hopes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Mickey mansell made last 8 today

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

And then averaged 77. I think Mickey has problems timing his 'beverage intake' across a long day. Good run for him though.

Willie needs to win a few rounds at the upcoming Euro Tour to have any chance in qualifying for the Matchplay as most of the players he is up against for those finals spots have also qualified. It would be great to see him do it as despite being a Tour card holder for the last 13 years, he has never managed to qualify for the Matchplay.

Mickey mansell wins in first round of ET10.

Keane Barry (v Kim hybrechts) and Willie o Connor (v wade) in action this evening. Willie needs to win a few games in this if he is to make the world matchplay

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

O'Connor will be hoping Keane Barry does him a favour. Huybrechts and Dolan are the 2 most likely he can overtake for a matchplay spot

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Kantele vs Maendl-Lawrence game is awful to watch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Keane bounces back from losing first leg against the throw to win 5-2. Very impressive performance.

    Poor stuff this from WoC

Remarkable performance from Gian Van Veen. Hammered Damon Heta 6-0 with 114 avg

Keane Barry and mickey mansell both out round 2

Disappointing for Willie, he gave himself a real chance of qualifying for the Matchplay for the first time. His form on the floor has been poor this year, it's his Euro Tour form that gave him the chance to qualify.

I have to say I really enjoy watching the Euro Tour, it makes for great viewing with the short form matches.

That must of been one of the highest standard euro tours yet. Lots of averages well over 100. Even James wade managed to hit 10 max's in a game. Looking forward to the matchplay now.

Some turn around in Mike De Decker's career. Kept hold of his tour card 2 years ago because he was a covid replacement in the world championship now making his debut at the world matchplay this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Yep. Far better than the Premier league or those invitational masters events. Would like to see Ireland getting a ET event now it looks like the grand prix ain't coming back

  • Registered Users Posts: 690 ✭✭✭US3

I think Matt Porter was hinting at that a few months ago, he said they were trying to secure a venue. Either a Euro tour or a World Series.

Couple of good results early on in round 1 of PC15 for Irish players. Dylan slevin beating Nathan aspinall and Steve Lennon beating ross smith

Slevin and Keane Barry into last 32. Other Irish all out

All of them lose in round 2 apart from William O Connor who beat Slevin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Dylan slevin makes the semi final in both DT18 and 19 today to move into 4th in dev tour OoM. He's a fair bit behind the top 2 though

German Darts open on now. Big tournament for Steve Lennon to hold onto his tour card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

I see Steve Lennon made last 16 of the pro tour event yesterday. Needs another couple of good runs in the events today and tomorrow badly to help him retain his tour card

He's about 12k off keeping his card at the moment according to the 'Post World Championships' Ranks on Dartsrankings.

Post World Championship Order of Merit (dartsrankings.com)

He has a lot of work to do, might need to make the third round minimum of the Worlds although he's not absolutely guaranteed to be in the Worlds yet. He is currently in the Players Championships though.

John O'Shea is in a worse position, he's 10k off retaining his tour card but he's nowhere near the qualifying spots for the Worlds and he's not currently in the Players Championships either. He's relying on qualifying for the Worlds through the PDC Tour Card Holder qualifier to have any chance of keeping his card.

Lennon does have ET13 in Oct to try to make up some ground, but yep needs some runs in these PC events or a decent run at the worlds/players finals.

O Shea is goosed you would have to feel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Also, just spotted Keane Barry is currently outside the pro tour top 64 and a decent bit off getting a place at the players championship finals

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

O'Connor, Slevin, Lennon and Mansell all through the first round. Barry and O'Shea both lost.

Keane Barry is having a nightmare year considering how good he was a year or two ago

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

all out in round 2 barring a miracle comeback by O Connor here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Lennon makes it through round 1 today. WOC, Slevin, Mansell all out. O Shea and Barry playing now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Lennon throws away a 4-1 lead against Gurney and loses 6-4 in round 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

ET13 starts today. Steven Lennon, Dylan Slevin and Mickey Mansell all in action. Keane Barry not playing but is currently 32/32 in terms of the qualification spots for the European Championship final event, if Gabriel Clemmens wins his match against Danny Jansen then he will pass out Barry. Apart from this its going to take a QF run at a minimum from someone behind him to get ahead.

Lennon will be hoping to win some mone toward his tour card qualification hopes while Mansell and Slevin will be looking to increase their World Championship appearance hopes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Lennon wins his first round match 6-3 coming back from 6-1 down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

I read the table wrong, apologies. Keane Barry is assured of a spot in the finals.

    Dylan Slevin out round 1

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Fallon Sherrock and Mikoru Suzuki women's series qualifiers for the worlds

Between the semi final and final he hit 14 doubles in a row to win the title. Amazing

A big few days for tour card holders with 4 Pro tour events happening from today till Saturday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Keane Barry wins his first round game. He needs a decent run (or a few!) to get into the Players championship finals

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    He loses round 2 match.

Good first round for ROI flagged players with WOC, Lennon, Mansell, O Shea and Slevin all winning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Gary anderson hit a 9 in beating Barry in that round 2 game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Slevin loses round 2. Steve Lennon with a huge win in round 2 over Gian van Veen

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Mansell loses 6-5 having been 5-3 up v Ryan Joyce. He is far from certain to get a Players Championship spot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

WOC beats Scott Waites 6-5 in round 2. John O Shea loses his second round match
