Pick HD - EIT Satellite data appearing on Sky/FTA Satellite

2 versions of Pick HD have appeared on Sky & FTA Satellite since yesterday as per Digital Spy.

12168V 27500 8PSK

5052 - FTA, HD, showing channel 999 content. Initially popped up as 'Pick HD' and EIT data currently shows 'Pick HD ROI'.

Sky EPGID links to a logo for 'Pick'. - edit - no longer running

12227H 27500 8PSK

5831 - FTA, HD, not running. Sky EPGID also links to a 'Pick' logo.

It has been reported by Broadcastnow.co.uk that Sky will be closing Pick on Wednesday the 18th of October.

It will be replaced with a new channel called Sky Mix.

It will available on Freeview channel 11. Sky Arts will take over Pick's old Freeview slot on channel 36.

It appears that the station will be available in HD only on satellite.

I guess they were pulled as neither seems present now.

Both tests are stil there, and are currently showing Pick EPG data but are not showing any video etc.

EDIT: It appears the reference originally quoted about this was from 2020 .... or is there a later post on Digital Spy about this?

A Sky Mix DOG has appeared on Pick. It has a notice confirming that it will relaunch on the 18th of October.

Yes, good to see, picture is nice and clear, subtitles are also working.

They haven't added the channel logo onto the screen yet, I'm sure they will as the Sky mix logo is on Pick SD

Oddly, both the current Picks and the HD tests are showing the same EPG info, the video output is different.

SD showing a programme about an American crime and a completely different programme on HD. Weird. Break bumpers identifying as Pick on both.

A DS poster said that one Pick HD feed had Sky Sports News on it and the other Pick HD feed had Sky Sports Cricket HD.

The channel has been added to the Freesat data feed, so it looks like Sky Mix HD will be FTA when it 'launches' on Wed 18th Oct. So a nice upgrade from the awful quality Pick in SD that we were getting.

Maybe SKY has seen the light screwing over customers is coming to an end. Fingers crossed that Sky Arts HD and Sky News HD will have the encryption lifted. Sometime soon.

Sky Arts HD being FTA would be nice.

There's sometimes good shows on it. I'm surprised Sky News HD isn't FTA yet to better compete with the other HD news channels.

Sky Mix now live, I had to run manual search on my Foxsat box to pick it up, probably went live after 3am when it autoruns.

Had a quick scan through, still lots of Border Patrol type shows on.
