Portugal have excellent ambition and their performance in france should be rewarded with guaranteed fixtures against tier one nations every year between now and the next RWC

I genuinely don't know how anyone could have watched Portugal and say their presence in this World Cup hasn't had value - be it the entertainment value of their madcap style or just the emotive value of such big-hearted minnows.

If Rugby is supposed to be this sport with a self-anointed sense of "values", then Portugal surely represent those values writ large.
