Are you talking about this thread? Who's is "delighting" at the killing of civilians?

If you mean more generally around the wider world there's utter pigs on both sides celebrating the actions of their own.

Basically what Hamas did on Saturday, they would be only too happy to do to all Jews in Israel (and any Christian or Moslem that got in their way). It's what Allah has mandated them to do, in their twisted thinking.

And, if their insane vision came to pass and they did liberate all of Israel, they would impose a theocracy so severe, they would make the Taliban look like pussycats.

They're not shy about telling us this either.

You repeat the same rubbish all the time, last time it was you asking me when was the last time i was in a hamas tunnel

Do you actually believe you have to actually be somewhere to know what its like

Let me ask you this question

In World War 1, were the trenches a good our bad place to be

Now i have never been there at that time, but do you have an opinion or is the answer, no they were grand, because you haven't been there

Cant we have any opinion on anything or do we have to be there

On Tv i have seen a Kamado dragon, looks really scary and could kill me, but by your reasoning it probably wont because i haven't met one

Again you are being very selective. You quoted the Huffington Post, claiming it backed up your misinterpretation but only partially quoted it.

“We are fighting human animals and we act accordingly,” Gallant said.

While it appears that Gallant was specifically referring to Hamas fighters in that comment, the rest of the minister’s remarks called for further oppression of all people in Gaza by denying them basic human needs.

It is not uncommon for oppressive regimes to use language that dehumanizes the oppressed population in order to justify inflicting violence on them. In the case of Israel’s apartheid, Gallant’s comments contribute to an atmosphere where it’s easier for anti-Palestinian individuals and politicians ― including Israel’s current far-right government ― to regard people in Gaza as less than human, and therefore undeserving of water, food, electricity or a way to escape violence.

This from the very same paper you used to attempt to back up your claims.

Israeli Defence ministers have a history of de humanising Palestinians.

American Delta Force and SEAL Team Six reportedly on the ground in order to assist the IDF in the extraction of hostages in upcoming incursion on the enclave.

Americans are also asking Egypt to open humanitarian corridor for refugees through its Rafah border crossing but Egypt only wants to provide humanitarian aid into the enclave.

This is all going to go very bad very quick.

Well that's a ridiculous opinion.Having ones own national flag in support of sports team isn't exactly done for virtue signalling reasons, unlike the Palestinian flag which is beloved of virtue signallers, anti-semites and cranks the world over.

Also the Omagh Bombing was 25 years ago so not exactly a very recent event and you didn't see large groups of people out celebrating it unlike the recent atrocities in Israel.

Ah look. Russia attacking population centres, hotels, apartments, shopping centres etc is called out for what is it. Israel killing 300+ kids (allegedly) only 4 days in is apparently ok. I just don't get the disconnect. I don't loathe Israel by any means but I just think more people should be calling it out as not being "ah, sure it's just war."

Buy yet stands with Israel doing the exact same thing.

This thread is fairly mental to be honest. Mindless bickering really.

So here we are again. Rinse and repeat every few years. Hamas goes loco. Israel responds at a civilian population. And it'll die down. And nothing will change. And in 5 to 6 years it'll all kick off again. Thankfully on this island we achieved a peace deal. Cant see anything like that over there for decades yet. So rinse and repeat the terror every few years until finally everyone has had enough.

Hamas are a quasi paramilitary/ state/ religious military force bent on retribution for hardships imposed on Palestians and in response to ever encroaching Israeli occupation of lands and creation of settlements - ethnic cleansing. They have been brutal in the last week in their actions.

Israel is a state and a very powerful one at that, armed to the teeth. That they should rain death and destruction down on millions of people in Gaza, whilst cutting all essential supplies and routes of escape, is an absolute abomination. The two sides do not equate. These events will be a great stain on the people of Israel and will cause great revulsion for many years to come. What Israel is engaged in here is a war crime on a grand scale.

Look. Maybe don’t lecture people about the “reality on the ground” in Gaza from the comfort of your armchair when you have never been near there if you want to be taken seriously. Back to Father Ted indeed.

Just imagine for a second how terrible ones living conditions would have to be to align themselves, support and put their trust in a radical terrorist group such as Hamas. This is how bad living in Gaza and Palestine actually has been over the years. Support for Hamas has grown over the years as Palestinians are desperate for a better life. Gaza is a ghetto and they know they deserve better.

As to this point, asked and answered and debunked already. The huff post articles says - "specifically relating to Hamas fighters in that comment". How you thought that backed up your point I dont know. It proves what I said.

Hamas fighters - those murderers, executioners of babies, childrens and civilians and rapists. Barbaric attacks. Hence why those barbaric murderers and rapists are called human animals.

I said to blame the government, the Palestinian group, formed of Palestinian people, called Hamas. That’s not victim blaming, they are no victims. Ethnic cleansing blah blah blah, always a diversion from the atrocities committed by these people. They’re holding children as hostages, they have threatened to kill them one by one and show the footage. They’re no better than ISIS.

No offence lads but this is polarisation and its throughout the thread ..

Nobody, here in Ireland especially, should underplay the effect years of oppression and being kept down without respect for civil rights can do to a population, and how terrorism thrives in such an environment.

Nor the mindset of a population, threatened existentialky fir hundreds of years and now, from all sides with its chief alliy being safely tucked thousands of miles away.

There are rights and responsibilities on both sides here.

Everyone must condemn the massacre of innocents by Hamas and their lack of care and regard for their own innocents by hiding in their midst.

Its akin to bombs being strapped to women and children /so called suicide bombers.

But now the language of Netanhayu, cordoning the area off, blocking humanitarian exit and the bombing of civilan areas in Gaza, while understandable in their fear and grief, it is still a war crime on their part also.

There are powers outside rubbing their hands gleefully Iran and possibly Russia and many Arab states, looking to start WW3 or to divert attention maybe from somewhere else, and US and other countries in Europe walking into it with " we atand by Israel" emblazoned on their chests.!

    Do you know what?

    I don't stand with Israel..nor Hamas .

I stand with the innocents on both sides, slaughtered babies and children and women and young people raped, killed or maimed for life, and why? We cannot let this go on and we cannot take sides because thats what the war mongers want.. to have us take a Stand with one side or the other.

There needs to be voices for peace, brokers who will try to stop this before the evil hawks get what they want.. A bloody war that at best will result in many more innocents dead, at worst another major war involving everyone.

The bigger concern here is that they (and the US) are sleepwalking into Jihad. If they continue to destroy Palestine in this way then that will only further radicalise the radical around the world. There is no stepping back when that is done, there is no reasoning with those who devote themselves to your destruction and by obliterating Gaza will only create more adherents to Jihad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,364 ✭✭✭Raoul Duke III

If they know they deserve better, wouldn't a positive first step be to oust Hamas from Gaza?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Snooker Loopy

Unless Israel ethnically cleanses Gaza of at least the vast majority of the 2.3 million people who live there, Hamas will simply grow back stronger. Even if that does happen, the problem will simply move elsewhere in the near neighbourhood and Hamas's ideology will only be strengthened. There are also 2.7 million Palestinians in the West Bank and 1.7 million Muslims in Israel. Will they have to be "cleansed" too?

@Furze99 Hamas are a quasi paramilitary/ state/ religious military force bent on retribution for hardships imposed on Palestians.

No they are nothing but your average Islamist terrorist group, they don't give 2 fecks about the average Palestinian in Gaza along with their leadership living the high Life in Qutar and Dubai,

What have they done for Gazans brought nothing but Death and suffering and they kill Palestinians too

Why did they not let the women and children out then?

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,053 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Was there a sports event on that was being celebrated?

Were they being flown in conjunction with other flags as solidarity or in peace?

Or you know when the flags were rolled out at the weekend was it to celebrate the execution and rape of civilians?

Its going on all the time here and is disgusting. Nobody will answer on why the Israelis wont allow the women and children out of Gaza? Thewhole thing is sick.

this isn't going to work either.

israel's only option is to get back within it's mandated borders, which were set out in 1948.

that is the only option it has left.

Look on the bright side. At least we have all had a very strong border policy, imagine if we just had open borders with no checks we could have millions of people roaming around ready to cause havoc at any time.
