a tough situation, but eFlow / electric ireland/ etc employees are not councilors and also have to go through procedures and checks. Else anyone can ring any company and cancel or change details of accounts.

He is not trying to change details, he's trying to pay the bill. Ive dealt with them in the wake of a family members death. Some companies are great. Some are absolutely ridiculous.

There's scammers calling in to pretending that Mr/Mrs X doyed, having the preliminary death cert opens all the doors and is first thing anyone should get when a relative dies if they want to organise their affairs.
