Yeah, more than likely within the pre-67 borders. I know the Orthodox factions would despise the LGB+ community, still they can live openly though. Not a hope of that in Gaza whatsoever.

Egypt can open the border whenever they want , not only that , they can take back Gaza and allow palestinians free movement in and out of the country. Passports , safety , jobs , economic opportunity. Allowing the people of Gaza to flee one of the most impoverished places on earth , that has no employment , no prospects and is governed by terrorists who for decades have stolen millions of international aid to live in Qatar was called a war crime a few days ago. The idea that the land would be left to Israel fills people with so much hatred that they rather see the completely unworkable situation continue as it is.

A 3 state solution with west bank going to Jordan is a hard pill to swallow temporarily but will work out for the greater good in the long run. Hams and fatwa will be expunged by the Arabs and Israel won't attempt a land grab against Jordan. They'd also have to withdraw half a million of their own citizens. A two and one state solution has never and will never be possible.

Egypt’s president, Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi, announced he had ordered the opening of the Rafah border crossing with Gaza for the whole of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, the longest period of access since 2013.

He wrote on his official Twitter account late on Thursday that the opening would “alleviate the burdens of the brothers in the Gaza Strip”.

The Rafah crossing is Gaza’s main gate to the outside world. Egypt has kept Rafah largely sealed off since 2013, when the elected president Mohamed Morsi was removed from power.

There are Egyptians on Twitter sharing a vid of their countrymen walking across the border with food parcels.

People go on about the border crossing being bombed. It was basically a guard house and 30ft gate on an open plain a few miles wide.

This the same border Israel have bombed at least 3 times so far during this conflict?

Almost looks like Israel don't want anyone crossing that border!

The revolutionary left helped overthrow the Shah of Iran, the first thing the mullahs did was shoot them, even before their opponents in the shahs regime. They were viewed as worse because of the religions view on atheists.

As the Shah himself said "next time. They'll be no next time"

Not going to happen....talking about "their Atrocity's" and being next or near them happening are two different things entirely.

  • Registered Users Posts: 962 ✭✭✭Burty330

yeah the same border that they hit on the palestine side according to the article

Yes, killing and forcing people off their sovereign land under fear of death is a war crime.

This coming from the fella that unapologetically referred to Hamas barbarism as “activities” at the weekend.

Once the veil slips it exposes a lot of people for what they really are.

After WW2 Israel was established as a homeland for all Jews, it’s their historical homeland and given their terrible history I think they are entitled to that. The Jews have been persecuted the world over and they now have a country that will welcome all persecuted Jews and they will defend that land to the end. As stated the Palestinians seem to have few real friends beyond the likes of Iran and the usual rabble of leftist ideologues and a large contingent that are not really supporting them, but just displaying their anti-Semitism under the guise of support for Palestine. If the shoe fits as the saying goes.

Most people have a degree of sympathy for the Palestinians and their plight, but they are effectively allowing themselves to be represented by a murderous death cult and through the years by corrupt leaders who basically enriched themselves at the expense of their own people, it really is very telling that in the immediate aftermath of Saturdays barbaric attacks their was deafening silence from certain ubiquitous posters who are the very first on boards with their condemnation and outrage anytime anyone is misgendered let alone murdered in cold blood, they only got onboard once Isreal had retaliated with such force. I like most people feel they were excessive in their response, and feel it will only serve to up the ante, and maybe that is what Netanyahu wants to achieve his political aims. As stated previously there will be no peace until the Palestinians reject Hamas, because no civilised country will seriously lobby for them while they are allowing this hateful group to speak for them and act in their name.

I dont think you can argue that pre the creation of Israel, you had a mixture of religions sharing the land. Then during WW1, the british - who as usual had their noses in other peoples business' - put forward The Balfour Declaration which was the idea that the jewish people get a 'national home' in the Ottoman region called Palastine which had a small minority Jewish population.

    That then happened after WW2.

This is history, therefore we cant argue the fact that's basically stealing land and giving it to someone else. They had no right to do that. This needs to be recognised and a better solution worked out with world wide support.

One problem there is military around the world wont be funded and the arms industry will lose trade if we started doing that kind of stuff.

Can anyone give me insight on the Supernova Festival attack?

The festival was one of those secret location, inform people just a few hours before it starts of location festivals.

Do you think Hamas deliberately targeted the festival or it was just a coincidence?

Maybe they saw the festival being set up in the days before and then targeted it.

This is a straight up lie, I've seen the video. The protestors were chanting "you're committing genocide".

    This is propaganda.

I think the only positive thing to come of this conflict is the end it brought to the war in Ukraine.

Sky News interviewed a security guard from the area who arrived on the scene and believed it was pure chance Hamas came across the festival.

They probably would have slaughtered more or took more of them hostage had they have known about it and planned for it.

Talk about the swinging pendulum, now there are calls for the restoration of the monarchy.

I wonder where the ones who escaped Gaza will go? I worked with several Palestinians in Syria and they are issued with a special passport, which extremely limits where they can go in the world. One friend had got a very good job in Saudi Arabia, and everything was going well until they requested a copy of his passport, once they say that, end of story, end of job offer.

After WW2 until 1948 Palestine was under British rule, so who took the jews in? And no, Jews were not kicked out of every country in Europe during WW2: they were murdered in their millions by the Nazis who had them deported to death camps from occupied countries.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,440 ✭✭✭orangerhyme

That's my thinking but who knows really.

It was just off the road inbetween two Kibbutzs so it seems like bad luck.

They were lambs to the slaughter as there was no real security and nowhere to hide.

    Probably lots of them intoxicated.

On the streets of London, attacking and abusing jews and calling for their blood. If this happens here just imagine what they're up against there.

Boyd-Barrett and Murphy along with Wallace and Daly are a group of Westsplaining clowns who project their opinions onto others and don't care if its wrong or not. So they'll talk down to people in Eastern Europe about Russia, wax lyrical about Palestinian "resistance" and tell the Taiwanese they're part of China etc. They couldn't come up with a interesting idea in a million years.

If you can name another country currently ethnically cleansing an already imprisoned population of over 2 million I will happily add them to the list.

Are you implying I want to boycott Israel because of anti semitism? Respectfully this is not the case.

Walked by the embassy on the waytothe match, sends shiver down your spine to see the pictures of the lost/kidnapped on the railings. There was a skight of Palestinian flags in the Aviva.

They don't seem to have learned much from it. No empathy at all.

  • Registered Users Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

Obviously people in Israel knew as well as people in Hamas, they knew what and where exactly to hit and what response times were for the Israeli military

    Welcome to Earth!

Since time immemorial, lands have been taken over and conquered, it is one of the reasons that a large percentage of the Earth’s 8 billion plus humans have a great degree of freedom and prosperity and we are not all still living as cavemen. Heck maybe the Native Americans should be given back the USA and all non natives deported back to their countries of origin, I know at least one ubiquitous poster on this message board would love that, as they seem to be very unhappy living in the USA.😀

Beyond barbaric what IDF Netinayu & crew are doing to the Palestinian people in Gaza innocent women, children being bombed on with support from US UK EU. 1.1 Mn citizens being told to evacuate in 24hours then being fired at ( 70 killed 200 injured as they tried to move as directed today ....RTE BBC 13/10 ) plus cutting off all power water blocking supplies and closing off all exit routes out of Gaza Strip. Deliberately bombed 💣 the only possible exit on Eygptian side earlier in week to prevent them getting out. Yes everyone accepts HAMAS are a terrorist organisation & we reject their hateful crimes to innocents but when Israel with support from the West now behave with such brutality and force & with total disregard for 2.3 Mn civilians killing 1700 + displacing 500K + that makes them as bad as any terrorist organisation - imho !

So 6 million of your co-religionists get murdered, and you expect the survivors to feel empathy?

Is there any end to the obscene anti-Semitic nonsense on this thread?
