    Best team won. Despite Wayne Barnes being on our side.

    Mack Hansen wasn't fit. Should never have started.

    Andrew Porter had a nightmare

    Excellent effort, nail-biting stuff .

    Well done to NZ .

    Left too much to do. Terrible outcome in the end.

    Feel for them. They gave it everything but NZ just that bit better.

    Sorry for Aki especially. He's been heroic.

    Same old bottlers

    Amnesty International’s new investigation shows that Israel imposes a system of oppression and domination against Palestinians across all areas under its control: in Israel and the OPT, and against Palestinian refugees, in order to benefit Jewish Israelis. This amounts to apartheid as prohibited in international law.

    Why was sexton left on the field for the whole second half, he looked to be struggling with an injury, no real intent with any of his runs towards the gain line, made it much easier for New Zealand to defend.

    Couldn’t be any prouder of the Irish team, hearts bigger than a bus. They never gave up and did themselves and all of Ireland proud. Well done lads

    That's an awful way to lose. Ireland gave their all and never gave up. Nearly 40 phases of play at the end, couldn't take your eyes of it. Some crucial misses and turning points. It could have been Ireland's game another day even when we didn't play our best. Absorbing contest though.

    that was unreal defending at the end from NZ!

    Well that was ****

    And that's it. Unbelievable.

    What a game of rugby. What an effort from our team in green. But NZ are the team on top. Fair play to them. They played us well. They were a great side. But we had that belief inside us to get up and win it when it counted. And it didn't happen tonight.

    Gutted for Ireland. Hard luck lads; you played your best and you did us proud. We will still follow you whenever you go next time.

    Ireland; Ireland;

    Together; standing tall;

    Shoulder to Shoulder;

    We answer Ireland's Call!

    Do we still retain No 1 world ranking at least?

    This isn't the time for moral victories. It's a dreadful outcome.

    We lost because of our own mistakes.

    We bottled it.

    Yep, I think we underperformed against an in form NZ side. They were at 100%.....we were probably at around 90%.

    Were we “better” second half? Very very little in the result.

    I’m proud of them.

    Absolutely gutted and too raw to even think about it but I just really don’t like Barnes.

    Congratulations New Zealand

    NZ played with 14 men for 20 minutes. Not good enough . Relied on a penalty try in the second half to keep them in it. Says it all really.

    We're going to stew over that held up try for a long long time

    It could be worse, could be that gutless team that played yesterday.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,098 ✭✭✭Augme

    60 minutes against 15 men and we still lost. Unforgivable at this level, especially when you are trying to talk yourselves up as the best team in the world.

    Well done to NZ, everything went against them and they still came through

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,473 ✭✭✭✭castletownman

    First ever world number one side not to reach at least the WC semi-finals.

    Ouch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69,688 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

    All I wanted for them was to be at their best. They weren’t and we paid. They gave everything in the later part but it was just not enough.

    Proud of that 17 game streak. Dust down and go again.
