I don't know about cardinal directions, but the Al-Jazeera video clearly shows a rocket suffer a malfunction and then radically change direction.

First trouble at 0:09, it's going bottom right to top left. Makes a hard turn after a second flash at 00:11, now heading top right at which point it appears to have caught fire and then breaks up at 00:14. Surface impacts follow at 00:19 and 00:21. Camera zooms in, you can easily see the distinctive solar panels silhouetted by the fire.

It makes me laugh/ cry the discussion on this thread debating whose fault was the hospital attack.

The entire crisis in Gaza has been caused by Israel & their incessant bombing, their displacement of families women kids, the cramming of 1.1Mn people into tight unsafe zones, the cutting off of vital supplies water food medicine. That amount would not have been near the hospital without their activities in preceeding days Either way they are fully to blame...imho!

Whether or not they deliberately attacked the hospital ( I certainly believe they did) they are ultimately the root cause here.

Disgusting that US EU UK politicians have taken their sloppy lies as credible I certainly wouldn't buy that crap from them. Apart from that what they are doing to actively stop any aid getting into Gaza is completely INHUMANE

We've also have the audio there is no sound of either an F16 or F15 or several of either nor is there any Sign of jet exhaust, and we also have the audio interpreted from the guys who actually launched the rockets,

So far there is zero evidence of IDF bombs or new weapon,

Good point. That video finally proves it was certainly them Israelis

The Israelis have bombed Palistinians countless times in the past and blamed "terrorist misfires". They've worn this excuse to death and have left it to the ignorant to spread the lies online.

Agree wholeheartedly on your second point.

First point, please provide an example of an similar situation where a protest in an apartheid made their oppressor stop.

Or are you talking about Israelis should protest?

East Germany was brought down by millions coming into streets, a highly repressive authoritarian regime where half the population spied on other half

    Romania too

Either Palestinians in Gaza are victims of Hamas (and Israel) or they support the first

Eitherway here is a peaceful chance for them to get out of this cycle of violence at a time when everyone has a video recorder in their pocket

So it was an accident ? A missile malfunctions and a few seconds later it strikes the very same hospital that was warned to evacuate a few hours earlier. I wonder what the odds of that were.

Zionist money in American politics is something seriously overlooked in these threads in regard to America's pro Israel attitude, I say that too as someone who isn't exactly anti Israel.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

It (whatever it was) landed in the carpark and set fire to several cars, no impact crater to speak of and the hospital seems relatively unscathed.

Israeli air strikes usually result in the total destruction of a building being turned to rubble, leaving behind a deep crater and a landscape of devastation. This explosion in the hospital carpark looks different.

Hard to quantify how many innocent people lost their lives in this horrific catastrophe.

It's all about the thing in the sky isn't it ? Something flashes and boom a second later while missiles are all heading east. The flash in the sky came from the sea zone.

Not comparing apples and apples to be honest, however I get the sentiment. Not a shock either you don't mean Israelis should protest against their government...

That works both ways walshb. As this thread and others show there will also always be Irish people who defend Israel no matter what they do.

What hold do Hamas have over the people and is there anybody or group that would get out to protest ?.We had similar questions as to why Russian people were not out protesting .There is blame on both sides but ultimately there has to some settlement. if Hamas could be stood down that could be a start but that looks very remote at this point .Also if Israel would stop electing hawks into power that might help as well . Very depressing watching this unfold .

Israel actually did have massive protests from what I remember recently

Eitherway there is a way out for Palestinians, and as an optimist I hope they grasp it now.

I suppose that age and personal situation effects your thoughts on any particular subject.

As a recent grandad to two beautiful little babies my heart bleeds for those who are caught up in this ongoing horror.

Round the clock pictures of terrified parents running screaming to bomb shelters or hospitals , carrying those tiny precious infants or bundles of bloodied blankets that once were living flesh and blood is absolutely horrifying.

We can of course all go online and give our tuppence worth on the rights and wrongs of those involved in the slaughter, who started it , who deserves punishment, who should be rained upon with more bombs and bullets .

Before shouting for more slaughter or revenge just think of the youngest most precious relation you have and imagine that tiny innocent child thrust into the current hell hole.

I just wish there was someone out there with the moral authority that could shout STOP.

What's your source that the hospital was warned to evacuate a few hours earlier?

FT reporting that US Defence Dept. is saying it was a Hamas rocket.

Israel saying the rocket was launched from the cemetary near the hospital and crashed into the adjacent car park.

FT reporting IDF has released mobile phone audio of Hamas operatives acknowledging the failed rocket launch.

Still early days but initial evidence points to the people building and firing thousands of home-made rockets from civilian areas. Looks like it is still a 'win' for Hamas as so many people have chosen to believe it was Israel anyway. The death cult of Hamas seems happy so sacrifice any lives to further its aims.

    Yes, of course.

What other choice did they have?

To be fair to them, they managed to influence the media (and social media) far earlier than Israel managed to achieve. That spoke volumes, and now a falsehood has been spread around the world that Israel mass murdered 500+ Palestinians in a hospital.

What actually happened is that a carpark was hit by a dodgy missile from Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the death toll is quite obviously nowhere near that which was alleged by the group.

Looks like it is still a 'win' for Hamas as so many people have chosen to believe it was Israel anyway. The death cult of Hamas seems happy so sacrifice any lives to further its aims.

Amazingly, it has turned out as a "win" for Hamas.

All you need do is take a look at social media (or even on this thread), to find ridiculous excuses to somehow blame this on Israel when every single ounce of evidence points in precisely the other direction.

I don't get stuff like this. If they are blaming Islamic Jihad, what have Hamas got to do with it? Aren't they different groups?

Doesn't matter what the truth is now, it's too late. Many people believe that Israel bombed and destroyed a hospital and killed hundreds of people. Further atrocities will be committed on the back of this lie

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,634 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

Israel is currently the worse in terms of damage but in terms of intent if HAMAS could kill 500 Jews with every missile they launch they'd be high fiving. Scum of the earth not taking responsibility for this and even worse exaggerating the deaths by so much.

Shows how dangerous the media is and how some fake news can kick up a frenzy around the world.

Hamas and PIJ are two sides of the same coin.

PIJ formed as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood and was influenced ideologically in its formation by the Islamic regime in Iran. It is a member of the Alliance of Palestinian Forces, which rejects the Oslo Accords and whose objective is the establishment of a sovereign Islamic Palestinian state. It calls for the military destruction of Israel and rejects a two-state solution. The organization's financial backing has historically come mainly from Syria and Hezbollah.

Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are covering up the crime, both blaming Israel - knowing full well the backlash against Israel and Jewish people around the world this will cause.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,084 ✭✭✭Sudden Valley

Yes have IDF said it was Hams or Islamic Jihad. I'm confused at this point as so many posters saying it was Hamas. Have to feel for the Palestinian civilians being killed accidentally by Israel or by Gazan terrorists.

If the propellant casing bursts a rocket can go anywhere I'd have thought.(even backwards -I think we have seen boomerang rockets in Ukraine)

If this was an IJ rocket then Hamas is still responsible as it is nominally the local government in Gaza and has a duty of care to "its" people.

Of course with no elections in recent years ,how is it different from any dictatorship? (answer ,well it is also a religious cult)
