I'm not saying it wasn't a yellow, just alot more sympathy after seeing it again, the ball was just moved on and Young hit Diaz's foot rather than the leg or any higher.

Likely doesn't change the outcome as you say.

I just thought it was a really wild hack at first but it was actually a little more calculated than I thought.

Dycheball is dependant on loading the opposition box on set pieces.

Szobo looking like our most important player out there today.

Passing not sticking for Trent but have a feeling he'll improve the 2nd half. The vision is there.

Gravenberch looks solid in midfield.

Van Dijk looking good too. He's pace improved.

Something we already know but Mac is not a 6. Gives away the ball too much and gets caught in possession.

Tsimi also needs to improve - he's our weak link.

Nunez should have a great impact off the bench.

Yep I think Nunez should come on pretty soon. Everton will reorganise in defence and our chaos merchant will be a real handful for them.

I'd prefer to see TAA play as his old RWB role for this half. Keep the width there and allow Salah inside more. But the pitch is still wide. Currently both are inside.

The centre is pretty packed at the minute with all the Everton bodies, so there is little space.

Seems every foul is a yellow, Konate 40 miles from goal, using his strength to stop a counter, totally a foul, but a yellow, that far from goal.

To be fair, the one thing they do seem to try stay consistent on is the deflected hand balls. We don't really see those given any more thankfully...VVD got caught out with one against Brighton 2 week's ago and it was rightfully waved on.

He knew exactly what he was doing, a long way from goal, normally a ref would have a word, tell him enough, but this season no warnings, straight yellow, if he makes another foul he'll be off. Usually it's 5 fouls, a yellow, 5 more another yellow.

Red card was a disaster

It's allowed Everton to completely park the bus and not even pretend to play. It's all stop start, like 50 seconds per goal kick and throw in. Only 2 minutes added in first half so referee isn't going to intervene. We've been slow ourselves, hopefully Capt'n Chaos Darwin gives us a boost in energy and gets us going.

We need to keep the ball in play more, no stupid glory shots.
