    Hi All

My wife and I are to very soon go shopping for an diamond eternity ring. We got the engagement ring in Antwerp from Philippe Harold 12 years ago which was a great experience and we also got a great deal at the time.

Can anyone recommend a place to go now? Would I be better off getting in this country or going back to Antwerp? Has anyone gotten their engagement rings lately in Antwerp or elsewhere that could recommend to me?

Having recently bought an engagement ring (2 years ago) and a diamond wedding band (3 months ago) - diamonds have got REALLY expensive. Everything else has too, but its beyond ridiculous. We were quoted over 4k for a ring that was previously around 900-1k. A number of jewelers told us prices change 3 times a day. You'll be better looking for something outside of Ireland if you want some bang for your buck

On the topic of expense, ive recently started the experience of ring acquisition with my fiance (proposed with interim ring) and have found quotes are higher than I would expect. Am looking at potentially buying the stone separate abroad (prices seem more manageable) and then having the ring made here with said stone.

Has anyone done this and would there be any jewelers in Dublin that would entertain this, or would they all only deal with people who want the whole stone and ring from them?

John Tobin Jewellery repairs off Camden st, have gone to them for years to get jewellery fixed and rings melted down and remodelled.

I'd say if you had a good experience in Antwerp, it's worth considering again. They’re known for great quality and often better prices than in some local stores. Recently, I ended up buying a Varenna Ring in Gold as a travel ring Australia. It's not a diamond but a beautifully crafted piece, with an 8mm × 10mm radiant cut stone and cubic zirconia on the band.

Experience the elegance and beauty of the Varenna Ring in Gold, a customer favourite perfect as a fake engagement ring or for testing before committing to a real diamond purchase. The radiant cut main stone sparkles brilliantly, complemented by beautiful cubic zirconia stones on the band.
