Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah, I'd completely forgotten about Ben! I thought Josh might have come back or something.

Josh is taking this season off from Connacht to finish his medical studies

Think we're going to get beat. These lads will cut through our defense if we play like last week.

Happy to see Murphy on the bench. Hope he can show something.

Deegan to get his century! I thought he'd reached that last season.

Another good test for Boyle and McCarthy. This will be beneficial for them in their development. I hope they go well. Hoping Barron plays a stormer.

McGuire can oust Clarkson with a good scrummaging performance.

I'm glad to see Osborne back. Was a bit concerned when he wasn't named in last weekends squad. He has a huge future if he can stay fit.

Would have liked to see Culhane get another start. Thought he went ok against a fat more experienced Glasgow side. But it's early yet and he probably isn't ready for this calibre of opposition. He's another with a lot of potential so I hope he stays healthy.

With Osborne and Ngatai in the same side we should really be targeting the Sharks backfield. Both have massive boots and should be trying to pick out space there.

Sharks 8.5 to 1 in Paddy Power. Home or not, those seem like big odds

I don't like this new Boards interface on mobile.

Apart from a win the one thing I'm hoping to see this weekend is even one opportunity in the match where Leinster work a movement that sees Jordan Larmour with the ball in his hands and a decent opportunity to do his thing. Must be very frustrating to play 80 minutes and not get an opportunity to do what you're good at.

What is everyone thinking for this evening's game? Leinster will always be bookies favourites especially when at home. But looking at the relative strengths of both sides I think Sharks may edge this one.

One thing I want to see is an improved defensive performance. Last weekend Leinster fell off a lot of tackles against Glasgow and were also slow to react in broken field situations. Although that might remain an issue until Nienaber links up with the squad. We're currently without a defensive specialist. That's the area where Lancaster originally had purview over when he arrived.

Stadium is dead. This is not going to be a big crowd.

I’d be extremely surprised if the sharks won. Leinster are pretty massive favourites.

If you don’t have any moral objections to betting on a team against your team, put a tenner on sharks money line.

The game borderline clashes with the world cup final, silly planning.

    And a yellow weather warning...

It's actually perfectly well set up for watching the final afterwards.

Playing well enough, but like last week there's a lack of accuracy.

A fumbled pass in the 22 or a knock on leading to a Sharks counter attack.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Great work on the two on one from Osborne and TOB.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Ah Max.

    That's poor.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 27,210 Mod ✭✭✭✭Podge_irl

I'm more happy than sad though. The accuracy can be worked on.

    TOB looking great

First time getting a look at Jack Boyle in person. He's very good in open field play. He's constantly shifting this feet when carrying to run to the side of the tackler rather than head on. Making some good metres.

TOB looks really good. Pretty typical Leinster performance but with some mistakes. Sharks kicking out of hand is woeful which is a bad trait vs leinster.

That's a shoulder to shoulder hit from Ngatai, no?

Curwin Bosch is mad as a box of frogs

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,484 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Are they seriously pretending ngatai didn't knock the Sharks player into Barron's head?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Harsh yellow?

Penalty definitely. Ngatai's initial hit bounced him into the shoulder even though he was coming forward with the tackle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Neville was very quick to jump in and say 'no mitigation'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Good idea to take the three points. We've been by far the better side, but haven't pulled away from the Sharks. Just manage the best few minutes of the sin.bij period and try to build a lead when we're back to 15.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Very impressed by Boyle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Jenkins was lucky there. Made no attempt to roll away at all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That's a super try. Brilliant carry from Penny to start it all off and successive round the corner carries that never let the Sharks defence settle.
