Anything happening in Howth today?

Tried to get to Howth from Dublin today, but no chance.

The trains seems to be out, due to contruction over the bank holiday weekend.

The busses were all full and didn't even stop at my stop.

Loads of people at the bus stop, all wanting to get to Howth.

Was there any kind of event in Howth?

I just wanted to do the cliff walk.

Nothing special on at all. You missed nothing. There must have been 100 people at the bus stop opposite DART station at 5.15 trying to get home. The bus stop in the village opposite library had 30 ish people. Cliff path was as busy as usual, full of people looking at their mobiles for directions 😉.

It's a fair climb from the village to the summit to do the cliff walk. It's grand if you drive.

Which was notified weeks in advance. Its a terrible weekend to do it, but they did let people know.

They have no choice but to use bank Holidays to get maintenance work done.

It's the curse of howth. Even years ago..you could never get out of it..end up walking home from k2.

Here's days of work in this maintenance, they need a long weekend to get it done.

Here'd be done complaints if there was a lack of maintenance. They can't win.

It is the only Monday BH between 07 August and Christmas. August might have been a worse time to get the extra bus drivers needed? Nothing special about Howth.

This surprised me as well. Even in London they can do these things overnight. ( Brexit, ASLEF and RMT strikes included......)

At least they should have planned for more busses on that weekend to compensate for the loss of the train service.

Things were actually fine only last weekend. I went there, no issues, train was even on time, - no overcrowding, etc....
