Nicely worked try there. Dragons a bit all over the shop after their try

Basham elbowed Byrne in the head after he kicked.

    TMO must look at that.

That’s a dirty hit and if the TMO doesn’t look at that it’s a joke

Is everyone just ignoring a blatant elbow to the back of the head?!

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    That's a red card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Byrne is falling but Basham has never made a legal tackle.

It's a tucked elbow to the head.

    Has to be red

    Red all day long.

Deliberate foul play. Scummy cheap shot.

Correct call after a dirty hit

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭clsmooth

Poor form. Tucked arm to the head of a defenceless player. No attempt to tackle. Should be a lengthy ban.

Brilliant refereeing there. Clear explanation and reasoning. Going straight to a red.

Why can't we get more of that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 69,718 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Should be a lengthy ban too. Had he connected fully that could have been a serious injury

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,994 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

I will never get bored of Joe McCarthy demolishing rucks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,183 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That's a shoulder to the head of Russell too.

Don't know what Lenihan is talking about.

Leinster should be running in at least two trys whilst Dragons are down to 13.

Really disappointed by Bashim. It’s incredibly dangerous to aim an elbow into the back of someone’s head.

People can be killed from trauma to there, you see it enough with those one punch assaults where the the victim falls badly. They’re the incidents that should carry lengthy bans. No place in the game for it.

McCarthy well deserving of his MotM award. Made huge contributions in defence in both his tackling and ruck work. Some monster carries in traffic as well.

Sending offs have disrupted Leinster more than Dra

Gave away a number of fairly poor penalties though.

    Job done move on

Leinster were pretty poor today. Can excuse the handling as it lashed rain, but there were a lot of errors outside of that. Lack of players in attack when going through the phases was a big one. We were always going to go through a transition period after Lancaster left and I suppose that's exacerbated by Nienaber have yet to take over.

McCarthy, Sheehan, Culhane and Connors were my standouts. Really hope TOB isn't badly injured. This could be his breakthrough season if he stays fit.

I'd love to see an interpro series which excludes International caped players (maybe players with fewer than 5 caps). Just see the next generation payers coming through without being overshadowed by the internationals.

The 6n would not be the time to do it though as the u20 6n is on at the same time and you'd need to have academy and u20s players available

Just watching the end of the game n replay and he stood out all game. It was a wet day designed for a heavy player like Joe, but he looked nasty aggressive doing the donkey work. Attacked rucks and drove over them. Ireland and leinster both need a massive lock. Very exciting

That's pretty much the only space in the calendar when there won't be URC or European Cup games. Maybe in non-World Cup years there would be free weekends at the time of the Autumn Internationals.

I'm guessing most of the Academy wouldn't be eligible for U20s also.

How many times do we say this after a Dragons away game?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,697 ✭✭✭arsebiscuits1

One for shooing the Welsh player out of the way who was standing in the way of his line to charge down the 9. I'm not part of the "games gone soft" brigade at all.... but it is insane that this was even considered a penalty.

That deft little pop that Culhane gave to Clarkson was absolutely wonderful.

It was a similar move that Tadgh used to release Aki in Twickenham in 2018.

Really hard to pull off well because you get smashed in the back by a tackler you can't see so you need to time it.... and commit to essentially getting blindsided.

There is a lot to like about this fella.
