Its not even been thanksgiving, not even the 1st December let alone the 8th December and the radio stations have been playing Christmas Songs for the last week! - sick of it!

I mostly listen to RTE and Newstalk, and RTE thankfully restrict themselves to 1st Dec (RTE1) and 8th Dec (Lyric), and Newstalk don't play much music.

But I'm already mightily sick of Christmas ads (and this despite watching practically nothing live on the telly and FF'ing through all ad breaks). And the poxy Toy Show.

If I ever become President/Taoiseach, the first law I'd enact would be a ban on any mention of Christmas until 1st December. After that, 24/7 if you like, all bets are off.

I saw fresh Christmas trees for sale on Francis Street last week FFS!!

Have heard very little music, thank crunchie!

HeidiHeidi, when you take over, please include a ban on putting Christmas lights, trees or decorations up until December (around here, they replace the Halloween decorations!) ☺️

Oh I mean ANY mention of Christmas - trees, lights, ads, songs, jumpers..... 3.5 weeks of all that shite is more than enough!

(The best Christmas I ever had was when I sailed across the Atlantic at the end of November, and only came home on 21st or 22nd December - 2 or 3 days of Christmas was just perfect!)

I'm just waiting for them to start Cadbury's Christmas Creme Eggs, launching them on the 1st (or 2nd) of November every year.

I've just started trying to convince my 2 year old to start demanding them to break the monotony of her current requests. I'm not sure how many more days, let alone months I can stand of listening to the wheels on the bus, five little ducks, baby shark, the alphabet and one or two more. I'd love a blast of rudolf or jingle bells.

haven't heard any on the radio yet, but the shops have their bloody Xmas playlists on already - I heard Auld Lang Syne in a supermarket yesterday!

Sick to death of same old same old every year. I avoid music radio at all costs and keep time in shopping places to absolute minimum.

    Good idea.

Used by retailers here as a con job to move stuff that hasn't shifted all year with marketing trickery.

Spare a thought for the less than happy perhaps a bit surly little elves in the retailers this year, Christmas for them starts once the containers full of Christmas tat rolls in from China usually around mid-October. By November it'll be every day containers coming in or sealed pallets of shite, less than helpful lorry drivers giving you lip over a tear in the sealed pallet and you insist on a full goods in. All the while happy festive musak is wafting over the air like a rotten Christmas stocking to the point where you feel like puking your guts up. Your exhausted tired starving hungry and had no tea break or lunch.

So if you get a surly little elf this year serving you or if you ask 'where are the dancing santa's'? just take a minute and understand maybe they're having a shittier day than you are.

Haven't heard any yet. But if they've been playing them in our local Tesco Ive missed them due to listening toy audiobooks while shopping.

Having said that, love Christmas songs. It'll be January soon enough 🥴😃

If you manage to get the Christmas Forum on Boards closed down, getting made Taoiseach will be a walk in the park. Would you be brave enough to go on there and tell the hard core that they are all mad?

Christmas songs, can't get enough of them.

    My top 3

No 1 Fairytale of New York The Pogues

No 2 Driving Home for Christmas Chris Rea

No 3 Same Old Lang Syne Dan Fogelberg

    Radio?

    Is this the year 1992?

You know you can listen to music of your own choosing these days.

Ah I see your problem! You are expecting people to work of your defective flowchart! Your missing the starting point so people can’t get of the starting block and the lack of an end point is discouraging them from even making an effort. And now that you have published it, you are doomed to about six weeks of Christmas!

hurry up, I need to put Bublé in and there's a lot more of him!

The thrill of the opening thirteen notes playing on a glockenspiel before Mariah opens her gob 😀

I don't like Christmas until the middle of December, but don't see the problem with the Christmas Forum. They post away there happily and don't torment us Scrooges.

If we could set up an "Imaginary Angry Middle-aged Men Everywhere" forum we'd be sorted.

Roy Wood and Noddy Holder are the two worst ones for me. Those two must have raked in a fortune in royalties with two of the most irritating Christmas songs ever.

The only Christmas music I really like is oldie stuff from Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra, as well as Christmas carols. That sort of music really gets me in the mood for Christmas, not that commercial muck on the radio.

    Currently in the Canaries :)

No Xmas songs anywhere. The shopping centres have trees etc up but very few of the bars and restaurants have yet.

Santa Claus is coming to town ... no he is not! - unless he is a month too early its not even 24th November at the moment!

(well correction Santa Claus is most probably comin to town shopping centres in a bid of consumerism and commercialism!)

Some of those guys that had big xmas hits never had to work again, not too many of them had any hits after! The royalties would last for te rest of their lives!

Little Drummer Boy with Bing Crosby and David Bowie, is great, in fairness.

the Wizard one (wish it could be Christmas every bleeding day) was recorded in the height of summer - it was blistering heat outside the studio ...

Thursday 28th December and it's the 4th day of Christmas 🎄 Only eight days of Christmas songs left, so enjoy 😀
