Is Dublin Business School going out of business ?

The college made a sudden change to its payment policy with no notice last week. Students are being locked out of their accounts unless they pay all their fees immediately, blocking them from material and uploading assignments.

There has been no communication from the college other than the demand for payment, it has left many students wondering why the college needs a sudden injection of cash this close to Christmas with no warning.

Do they pay and hope the college survives or save their money and suffer failing.

Your post suggests that the college has decided to get tough with students who have not paid their fees on time. And there is nothing in your post at all to support the title of your post.

That's common in third level institutions - if fees are outstanding then access is blocked. A friend of mine had that years ago when doing a part-time masters at DCU, 60% paid on enrollment and balance due after Christmas. Their financial situation had changed due to a job loss but they managed to get an agreement to pay late. Caused a lot of extra stress and worry at the time.

What was the previous fees policy in DBS?

Students with payment plans in place are being locked out seems like everyone is being lumped in. The concern is amplified by the lack of explanation from the college.

You could have a payment plan previously but even those that had a plan in place are being lumped in.

Did anyone on a payment plan check with the DBS fees office why this is happening?

First of all what where their status, were the paid up to date? And what actual explanation where they given?

This is the problem the college is not communicating and it's been a week with no answer, spooking everyone

@Jim2007 majority have been up to date with their plans. Combined with the lack of comms is the issue.
