It's standard enough, cut the line, flare and replace the corroded part with a kunifer pipe. Steel is not really used outside of the factory and copper is not available anymore (copper brake lines are illegal in many countries)

Of course Copper Brake Pipe is still available. Just have a very quick look on amazon for example.....loads of it there.

The wife's Megane failed it's NCT last August on slightly corroded brake pipes. I cut out the 2 pieces mentioned in the Fail Sheet, replaced them with Copper and they were quite happy to issue a Pass.

On amazon yes but not in Irish motorfactors, Ireland is one of the few countries that still allow copper brake pipes (even the very lax USA dont allow them)

kunifer looks very similar to copper, slightly lighter in colour and lots of people refer to this as "copper" brake pipe

the right mechanic forf this job is any mechanic. its not a specialist job at all. very low knowledge/ skill indeed. and tooling required in cheap.

Depeding on what garages offer here for the pipe materials I have relatively seen copper pipes on cars as replacement. If most of the crowd does that then I got no option but to go ahead…

Going across today to get it done lets see what I get.

The pipe used for brake lines is a copper alloy, not copper.

Search Result: Copper Pipe | MicksGarage

Available in every motor factor too.

As I said before copper itself is not available for about a decade now but they use a copper alloy called kunifer, some places still refer to it as copper but it's not

That's about standard for any decent garage at the moment, be wary the garage who can fit you in right away

Its really hard to find trustworthy garages who does the job with reasonable price, If I find any will share for the benefit of all..

I got into a bad day with wind, a guy opened his car door and slammed into my car soo hard it dented the door no luck lately now its two jobs for the garage, this keeps going on.. with not many days left for retest NCT
