And Dupont in the new year when he heads off to the French 7s.

Weird decision from Glasgow not to take the losing bonus point. Came away with nothing in the end.

I wasn't watching it, I assume they kicked to the corner for a BP Try and a losing BP?

If that was the scenario then it was hardly weird, especially after getting 5 maul tries last week

URC teams both beaten at home tonight.

Think French teams will make a real impression on both European competitions.

5 points away from home for Bordeaux with two home games coming up puts them in a good position im their pool.

very bad start for URC teams last night, big reality check, hope they fare better today

Toulon player led off by about 10 medics with his arm in a heap.

    Exeter beat toulon in toulon

Very impressive result for a young Exeter team without many recognisable names.

Everybody misses the old Heineken cup, but does anyone think that this new format would be much more popular if the media (and fans) looked at the format a little differently.

The common perception is that 4 of 6 teams qualifying removes the jeopardy of the group stages, however if a teams finishes 3rd or 4th in the group they would probably need to win 3 away games in a row to win the title- seems almost impossible.

Realistically if teams want to go far in the competition they need to come first or second in their pool, perhaps if this was emphasised more and coming 3rd and 4th was seen more of a bonus consolation prize then the format would be appreciated more…

I thought Exeter were finished at HT. They did very well to fight their way back into it.

How that's a Bath penalty is beyond me

Bulls v Sarries should be utter brutality. Raging it's on at the same time as the Munster match.

really fear for Ulster this season, think its going to be a write off...

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,513 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Try for the Bulls ruled out for a forward pass. The pass was clearly backwards before it drifted forwards. Have they changed the rule?

    Bulls hammering Sarries now

    Billy V red card

Bulls only URC team with a win so far

Munster only get a draw at him to Bayonne. That's really bad, they'll struggle to qualify after that.

A very questionable clear out by the Exeter forward (Vermeulen?) led to a badly dislocated shoulder, or worse, for the unfortunate Serin. But referee Busby didn't want to know. The superior Toulon pack got very little change from Busby in the scrums this afternoon, as with Connacht last weekend.

Nah, two wins will see you through. With the two points picked up, one win and one draw will do Munster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,513 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Do you think Munster will beat Bayonne in France? Northampton and Exeter in England? How about Toulon in France.

Home wins for Exeter and Northampton put them through.

They're not playing Bayonne again and they're not playing Northampton in England.

That set of results is the worst possible for Munster. The teams who we all assumed might be crap won games and now have a reason to front up. Toulon will come back and will be back in the hunt by the Munster game but will need to take it seriously. Still fancy them to get through, but it will be a scrap and the hope of topping the group just died on its ass.

Just watching the Munster game back on the telly after being there last night, why are commentators yapping over stand up and fight? More respect shown to the Toulon anthem earlier in the day

You need to look at the fixtures again, we all play four pool games two at home and two away. There are no home & away games against the same team. We play Exeter away, tough fixture after yesterday, we play Toulon in France and then we play Saints in Thomond. Two losing BPs away and a win v Saints should see us through

As an aside Bayonne & Exeter play each other in the final game of Rnd4, could be a real decider

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,513 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I don't think it's as easy as you are making out. It could easily come down to a tie break for the fourth spot with Bayonne.

Playing Glasgow is a big bonus in this pool.

Sale losing players to beat the band here.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,172 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Sale have been very poor. They've had 80% territory but don't know what to do with the ball. Bar a few decent kicks behind the defence from Ford they've struggled to get through the Stade defense.

Such a pity that absolute Munster clown in the crowd yesterday wasn’t completely filled in by Mikautadze. No surprises I suppose when your patrons are from Cork or Limerick.

Next game should be behind closed doors as they are clearly unable to control their fans.
