I was just checking to see when the season ticket would be out for 2024. When I click on the renew button getting the access denied screen. Has there been any communication as to when 2024 season tickets will be out?

Nothing yet from them. It was 18th October last year. The 2024 renewals seem to be ready to go but they haven't activated the links yet.....fairly soon I'd imagine.

Is the season ticket much value these days?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52 ✭✭Tom Thumbless

@C4000.Thanks I thought I had the season ticket by now last year. Will just have to keep an eye in it.

@billyhead Not a great monetary value but are handy if like me you don't live in your home county for years and have lost ties with your club

Very handy for Munster hurling games in Ennis and Waterford and of course if you get to the All Ireland final you are guaranteed a ticket once you have been to 80% of championship games.

They got rid of the needing to go to games. Value is just final tickets. Discounts are gone on championship games.

I'll be very surprised if the price remains the same

They wouldnt want to put it up much more or people may not bother with it- people are already struggling with other increased costs ie mortgages - rent - groceries etc

For Limerick hurling a season ticket holder gets 5 leagues 5 X 20 Euro , maybe a league final if you got there 25? and first 2 rounds 30 each which could be 185 worth of tickets for 150 but if you only go to championship 60 worth of tickets- in saying that limericks 3500 sold out past 4 years unsurprisingly .

The seats are very good with the season ticket, couple of games this year where I knew people that had to settle for terrace tickets or were in the corner of stands etc, whereas season ticket section were the best seats in the house.

There's a great camaraderie amongst supporters as well, you have a lot of the people who go to every match sitting together, theres sort of a collective disbelief at the days we are getting from this team.

Just got a mail about checking your ticketmaster account and be released soon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,354 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

It was in my junk mail so beware of that possibility

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 140 ✭✭Greensoup

Thanks for that info…..looked in junk mail and there it was👍

It was 1st Dec 2021 when the 2022 season ticket renewals opened

Hopefully we'll have news this week, be nice to get that cost out of the way

As a Waterford supporter be nice to get value for money off it for once

  • No longer showing as Access Denied when you select renew, looks like it's nearly ready to go.

"Purchase tickets for five of your county's championship matches and qualify for All Ireland Final tickets" - I'm not seeing any mention of the first championship game being free.

Shortest route to the final is 6 games for a Munster team or 7 for a Leinster team so that's one opt out for Munster teams and two opt outs for Leinster teams.

Hopefully no price rise. The days of €75 for the ticket, free admission to NHL games for ALL counties, free admission to your first championship match and a €5 reduction on all subsequent non All-Ireland final tickets seem a very faint memory now.

Ffs have they got rid of the included championship games ?

Looks like it. And probably a price rise too. 🫣

    What a joke

Like what's the point of it really if you could just buy tickets separately

So you're only getting league games and Senior club All Ireland for €150 and first dibs on tickets

Anyone able to renew their ST? Clicked on Renew but brings up a page saying no invoices unpaid.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52 ✭✭Tom Thumbless

No not yet. When I try I am getting a screen " No events available"

Would they ever hurry up opening up for renewals

Seems to be dragging on this year. There are new things in the website anytime I log in

Some Parnell passes available which is better value for supporters

11th Dec is the supposed date for renewals

Unfortunately this is getting watered down every year. The seats for the big games are great but in practical terms it offers no value. The hurling league has been watered down into glorified challenge games and even the club championships which were a nice bonus are in a horrible slot now which makes it unappealing unless one of your county clubs are involved.

Maybe for supporters of munster hurling counties it helps to guarantee entry to waterford or ennis and if you know your team is in the final more than likely its handy to know you wont have to fight for one but for the majority of counties it doesn't make any sense really.

There were updated terms and conditions when I logged on to the site yesterday. Price remains at 150 euro and two 'free' hurling championship matches are still in place.

  • I saw that too but at the same time those T’s & C’s referenced the 2023 championship.

Be a right kick in the teeth to raise the price and then do away with the '1/2 free championship tickets'

One good point anyway is that the league should be a fair bit more competitive in 2024, as the bottom 5 teams are essentially being relegated for 2025.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,175 ✭✭✭diceyreilly

If they get rid of the “free” championship game I won’t be renewing.

  • Better format and I hope it does lead to a bit more of a competitive 2024.

Bit surprising though because we had a similar format between 2012 and 2019 (and with groups of 6 instead of 7) and it was abandoned because the top Liam McCarthy Counties felt 1A was too competitive to field new players and that 1B teams had an unfair advantage - a reaction to Galway and Limerick winning the All-Ireland from 1B in 2017 & 2018.

Surely the new Division 1 of 7 teams will “suffer” the same “problem” of it being too competitive to risk new players and surely the new Division 2 will have the same “advantage” to the one or two top tier McCarthy Cup counties within?

At this stage I wish they’d just pick a format and stick with it!

Got this from the sign in page

Looking like its true about the 'free Championship ticket'

    😠

I only ever bought it once, but I would urge anyone to consider boycotting if they do away with the free games.

The price growth in the last few years is crazy, its just a money grab from an assumed captive audience and would be punishing the loyalty of fans.

Is their own version of shrinkflation

‘Great value lads, price hasn’t changed. But we’ll give you less, cheers’

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,833 ✭✭✭lertsnim

They can get fucked if the championship games are gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,115 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

What did the ticket entail previously. Was the 1st game included.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,833 ✭✭✭lertsnim

    First 2 games.

    How much is it now.

Are they only allowing renewals at the moment .

Is the Limerick season ticket sold out ?

  • They haven’t released the details yet - €150 last year and €250 for Club+ version.

Renewals only for a few weeks (maybe a month) and then general sale. Limerick hurling sold out for the last two seasons while Mayo football and Dublin football have been sold out quite possibly since it started in 2009, at least a decade anyway.

Around 3500 is the limit per county.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭kala85

does the 150e ticket guarantee access to an All-Ireland ticket or do I have to attend a certain percentage of games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,354 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

  • You don’t actually have to attend a single game, you just need to pay for the tickets and you get one opt out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,115 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

Not much point in paying for tickets and not going.

Post edited by Boards.ie: Mike on

  • True but it definitely happens. Seen examples of people losing out on final tickets because they forgot to pay for one or two games while they were on holidays.

One of the GAA’s hooks for the season ticket was “Loyalty rewarded”. They just redefined loyalty as paying to attend rather than actually attending. So long as their pockets are lined they couldn’t care less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,910 ✭✭✭kala85

so just pay for the tickets ?

Last time I had the season ticket it was scanned at the gate and attendance recorded on the gate.

has this all changed .it's only purchase rather than attendance

  • Yep it changed when they reintroduced it for 2022. Even before that though the Club+ option didn’t actually require attendance. Guaranteed AI final ticket.

I’m not 100% on this but I think seating groups are no longer an option. Plus the option to buy additional seats (I think it was a specific ‘Bring a friend’ option) was ditched. They also ditched the option to go to all league games for all counties in your chosen code and they removed the €5 reduction for all non AI final tickets.

The value is gone. Literally the only benefit now is guaranteed ticket for the final if your county gets there. Utterly pointless for fans of most counties.

  • Secretary of my club says renewal emails being sent out tomorrow.
