Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

on the other hand, ther wont be pressure to win , except Burnley - we are never good under pressure , so might sneak a few points

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,655 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

Fair play to Luton for giving it a go v arsenal last night

But if we set up like that we would definitely be relegated. I'll take boring 1-0 and 0-0 games all season

I’d be happy with a draw tonight, but delighted Seamus is back!!

Just as frustrating as United game. Should be out of sight.

    The inevitable soft goal awaits

Great to see us playing so well against a decent side like Newcastle.

The turnaround in the last few weeks has been dramatic

Honest and hard working. Can't ask for much more. Great spirit in that team.

Didn't deserve to lose by three to United so this goes some of the way to making up for it.

Did Beto think he was offside? Looked almost like he did the non celebration celebration?

Everton already out of the relegation zone after their 10 point deduction. Well done lads, always had a soft spot for the Toffees.

Beto was deffo on, Trippier kept him on.

In fact Trippier made all 3 goals.

Dyche doing some job , under the most trying circumstances - when he came in I was not a fan of his football, but he grew on me, expecially after the Kane collapse, - and fairplay to DoF , everyone knew we needed a striker , given Doms injury history, but Beto , has allowed Dom recover properly , without either setting the league on fire , but gives the team structure , allowing the likes of NcNeill and Doucoure to step up - so big up Dyche and Thelwell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,468 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

I know he was on. But his celebration was seriously muted for a guy that was clearly desperate for his first league goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,942 ✭✭✭wally79

He wasn’t sure if he was on. Celebrated more slightly later

3 in a row , just saw highlights , hopefully Dom not injured , took a knock at the first goal - though he is not scoring, gives the team balance that we have missed for 2 years.

Suddenly our home form has picked up.

We could be chasing a European spot if we get some points back

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,592 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

He looked shook for a few minutes, hopefully he’s ok. I don’t know how the highlights were, but we were excellent today. Let Chelsea tippy tappy around but they never looked like breaking us down.

I wasn’t a fan, but Dyche is doing a great job.

I was the same, dreraded when he came , feared Big Sam 2 , but he has grown on me, given the difficulties he has faced, he has done a super job, and seams a decent skin , couldnt see Big Sam rocking Glastonbury !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,719 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

not going to happen, but he would be a good choice for the Irish job ,

Supporting Everton has been pretty miserable for 30 years, but this shows some pride and commitment is back, Dobbins celebration at end was special :-

Can't shake the feeling that Burnley is a banana skin. Following Everton for years does that to you. I remember under Martinez, just before Xmas, we were due to play Sunderland at Goodison. They were adrift at the bottom of the league and a win would put us 4th. They had one shot on goal to our 11 (I think). They won 1-0.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,609 ✭✭✭dubrov

I don't understand how this team has changed so much in a few weeks. We were a class above Burnley in the first 20 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,655 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

We're on a nice run at the moment.

Seems to be a good spirit in the squad. Let's hope we can keep it going for another few games

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,592 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

Football is a simple game and Dyche plays it a simple way. He’s really managed to pull the team together and motivate them. Plus DCL is a great focal point.

Clean sheet with Keane and Godfrey , agree on DCL , even though he's not scoring , hes so important , and fair play to Dyche and Beto allowing him recover properly, and not rushing him back half fit, like last 2 seasons.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,592 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

Even when he’s not scoring, it’s unbelievable how much of a difference a fit and well DCL makes. His work rate is unbelievable and he’s a complete nuisance.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t want Dyche. I thought he was doing a terrible job in the first few games. I was completely wrong.

same, my turning point with Dyche was when he stood up for Doucoure with the Kane collapse, and more admiration for DCL since his comeback shows us what we were missing when out or half fit , and I really thought he would never return to his best , now we are seeing the striker Arsenal wanted.

would be great to see us in a cup semi final

have we enough to beat Fullam? they are very hit and miss

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,592 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

We have enough to beat anyone now.

I’m hoping Dyche plays a full strength team and we see the “Premier League Corrupt” signs at Wembley next year.

Wasn't a good 90 preceding penalties but they at least did enough to give themselves a chance.

    But ....

That's really frustrated me. Poor execution is one thing but at least don't be fu(king casual or arrogant.

A totally unprofessional moment from Onana.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,719 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

after 4 games , knew that was coming, would like to see Dom scoring again, I guess Keane was unlucky (again) - Shite Onana pen

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,383 ✭✭✭Higgins5473

Dreadful penalty, one of the worst I've seen. You'd rather see a ball get sent out of the stadium than that meek pitiful effort.

    Better side.

There's no way DCL's goal gets overturned going the other way.

Outplayed Spurs for about seventy minutes. Need to take our chances.

Gomes was sublime when he came on. What a boost he would be if he came back into the side to do more of that.

    I don't like Danjuma.

We might have gotten something if danjuma could pass the ball instead of shooting or trying a trick every time he gets it
