Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jeez, Shearer sounds as desperate as Neville for an Arsenal goal already!! Mustn’t have liked the pile on to his Twitter outburst 😂😂😂

These commentators... Is this Arsenal TV?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,594 ✭✭✭cmac2009

Insufferable prick. Definitely dislikes Liverpool, tries to hide it but it's quite clear on occasions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,149 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Arsenal playing like they have an extra man, certainly in midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Mc alistar is some downgrade from Endo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,324 ✭✭✭ratracer

    Yeah,

midfield non-existent so far alright. Completely overrun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

I think the midfield Gakpo experiment has run its course

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,659 ✭✭✭The Rooster

Yes, Jones not at the races yet and while Gakpo is fine in midfield against the crappy teams, he shouldn’t be in midfield against the top teams.

Show that shoulder to the face again,,,,no

He’s a completely empty shirt. Like playing with a man less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

We'd still be watching the replays if it was Saka who got hit in the face

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Think we're just hoping for a goal on the counter here

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,525 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

The commentators here on BBC.... wtf. Arsenal tv is right. Konate had a savage block earlier. No mention. Taa with a ridiculous bit of play across his own box and picking Diaz out on half way under pressure with his left leg. Silence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Frustrating how little Nunez seems to know how to use his physicality. Any time he tries he just fouls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,309 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

That should have been a yellow for White

How is White not on a yellow between that and the shirt pull earlier

  • Administrators Posts: 54,136 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

The commentary is fine lads. This is all sounding a little bit needy.

Jones made White look foolish there. Lovely skill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,792 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Anytime Gakpo played in midfield for the dutch I think he was used in the left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,656 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Being completely over run from the middle, the back 4 are doing very well to keep this level. Only Jones in flashes is showing anything in midfield, but it's only in flashes. Have we another body to put in there? Drop Harvey back to get us a foothold? Luckily, Arsenal have Kai and Nelson leading their line.

Edit, if Jones had fallen there, it was a penalty, he was trod on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,149 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

MacAllister very rusty & off the pace after his injury.

Jones hasn't been great but he's been our best player that isn't named Trent.

Yes nunez should be bullying defenders instead of lazy fouling, very frustrating. I think I'm starting to finally give up on him

  • Administrators Posts: 54,136 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

When we’re under pressure like this we really need Nunez to be an outlet like Salah usually is. Even just to run the ball and keep it for a bit.

That said, we’ve no midfield which is making his job much harder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Between himself and Diaz we should be able to find runners here really

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,324 ✭✭✭ratracer

Although he’s given the ball away once or twice, Gomez is keeping Sako fairly quiet so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

They can get a grip calling for a penalty with that

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,440 ✭✭✭SM01

Normally wouldn't pass any remarks on the commentary, but it is very "Arsenal vs A. N. other team"

I mean, we are dogshyte so far today, but that hasn't really been analysed because they're too busy talking about Arsenal. Balance would be nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Even Trent has to laugh, off the bar again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,306 ✭✭✭Widdensushi

Taa trying to break the crossbar

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,665 ✭✭✭DJIMI TRARORE

    Ooh trent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,149 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Arsenal keep forcing Quansah onto his left foot. Weaker foot and he has to kinda hoof but gives it away then. It's working for them.

There were 2 balls in the pitch when Arsenal took that quick throw.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

He did well for the Trent chance but Gakpo's not had a good moment outside of that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

Every single game you have Liverpool fans crying about commentary who gives a fook some fans are very sensitive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,082 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Very nervy first 15 minutes, but since then have handled their attacks better. Just not quite offering enough ourselves.

We’re really lacking attacks into space - Diaz should be the one for that, but he’s not doing it, and Elliot can’t on the right. Love to see Nunez move right onto Kiwior, reckon he’d burn him and could get a ball in. Gakpo struggling to get involved in midfield, may as well put him CF until Jota comes on, and use Elliot’s running in the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,409 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Not really been at it so far. Coughing up a lot of chances due to Arsenal’s press.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,407 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Elliot into CM, Gakpo at 9 and Nunez RW would probably give more balance to midfield.

Or changes at halftime and bring Gravenbach in for Gakpo/Nunez/Diaz and swap the front line around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,306 ✭✭✭Widdensushi

How does white not get a card for taking Jones out of it, he made no attempt to go after the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 785 ✭✭✭patsy sally

Just in haven't seen any of the match, hearing a lot of comments saying we should be 4 maybe more down at halftime has it Been that bad?

  • Administrators Posts: 54,136 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

I think we need to get Elliott on the ball and I think the best place for that is in midfield.

Risky because Elliott and MacAlister together in midfield has almost no physical presence.

But I think we have to risk it.

It’s far from our worst performance but they are all over us.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,136 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

It looks like Elliott and Gakpo have switched?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,149 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Arsenal have had chances alright and maybe should have scored 1 or 2 in Nelson & Odegaard. A few half chances / blocked shots also, mostly Havertz. Shearer keeps saying that they should be 4 or 5 nil up. Their xg in the first half was 1.3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,614 ✭✭✭eigrod

Ref doing pretty well so far.

    Jota for Cody or nunez.

Get Diaz back on left. He loves coming inside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Shocking from Diaz, has two chances at it too

  • Administrators Posts: 54,136 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Diaz definitely is better cutting in off the left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,977 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Better that, Trent to Nunez and he makes up his mind quickly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,419 ✭✭✭facehugger99
