Have Salah/Son on international duty - will cost 0.8 to buy both back at current prices.

Might sell one and hold one.

Nakamba out with a knee injury and Lascelles more than likely losing his starting spot.

    Palmer + 5m defender.

Understanding what will happen with prices is very important but very difficult to predict.

Haaland has dropped 0.1m but has been sold by lots (I think from early 80% ownership to 53%) which is pretty mental.

Salah and Son both predicted to drop tonight so a lot depends on what price you bought them.

One thing to consider is how many managers are still active. Would we guess that 30% of the 10 million managers are still active ? How would this impact sales ?

All that said, selling both or keeping both could be argued so make a plan and try to stick to it.

Given that it's only 2 GW's as well makes it a bigger dilemma I feel, if you can field 11 players without taking to many hits is probably best, as your likely to want to bring them back when their available, which could potentially have them missing only 1 GW. I have the same two + Hwang and also Haaland sitting on the bench, nearly tempted to just sell Hwang to Garnacho and upgrade my one non player defender for next GW, and leave Salah/Son on the bench and see how their teams are looking in the AFCON/AFCAC then.

Enough people sold Salah last night to cause a price drop anyways.

The deadline is not for another 11 days and Liverpool don't play a PL for another 19 days. While it is very unlikely, it is possible that Egypt are eliminated from the AFCON by that time.

Making the early moves before a few cup games etc is dangerous.

Yep I'll be taking all the price drops, don't care. Information is more important than funds right now.

It’s a tricky one. I’ll hold out I’d say but I can see why people are going early. If you want to try and have Salah, Son, Haaland and Trent all back in your team in a few Gameweeks you need your team value to remain quite good. But then Salah or Son could come back injured too…

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,680 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

Will look at moving Nakamba to Palmer closer to the deadline.

    Will probably bank the hit.

Will give me 11 with Lascelles, Salah and Son benched.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,441 ✭✭✭shmeee

And hopefully might get a bit more news and even an appearance on the pitch by KdB or Maddison to throw them 2 into the mix as potential replacements. I took Salah's drop last night, I'll take Son's tonight.

After watching that cup game I'm in no hurry to get Saka in (or any Arsenal attacker)....they look completely constipated up front

    Trent injured now too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,441 ✭✭✭shmeee

Early movers getting stung already, 410k transfers made. 5 red flags I've got now to worry about. And could be more come deadline.

Have to at least set your VC on someone playing early in the GW now and have as much info as possible.

ha i was all set to give TAA that armband this week to

Bowen out for a month by the sounds of it. Only brought him last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,383 ✭✭✭✭gammygils

Just waiting for Palmer to get injured tonight

    It's gonna happen isn't it?

I might actually just keep Salah now, and sell Bowen instead. There is a chance that Salah could return to PL games before Bowen does.

West Ham are missing Paqueta, Kudus & Bowen now, so their attack is not as attractive.

Might look at Jota as a replacement. Although Liverpool have a horrific injury/unavailable list at the moment and ironically the only position where there is any sort of rotation possibilities is upfront with Jota!

Bowen might be back sooner than originally expected now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,953 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I guess, people needing to move Salah/Son out to fund Haaland's eventual return, will likely lead to many holding Bowen until he returns then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭Xander10

Any sign of Haaland doing a bit of training

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

Here's me sitting with all 3 + TAA and Hwang, that lad in CL 2nd leg could have a decent chance this GW

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 313 ✭✭The Guru 123

Sounds like Bowen and TAA aren’t super serious so given there’s only 1 game in the next 3 weeks basically I think it makes sense to keep them and just see how the lay of the land is in 2 weeks time. Would definitely be selling the AFCON boys first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,392 ✭✭✭COH

Best defender (4.5 or lower) for the next couple gameweeks anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,953 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Yikes, that is a bad situation. It’s almost wildcardable, although you’d imagine there’ll be times where bigger gains can be made with blanks/doubles later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,108 ✭✭✭ShagNastii

Is getting in Toney this GW anything but an egg-on-face move?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,595 ✭✭✭macraignil

My defense has been doing fairly poor all season so on wildcard have brought in Doughty, Gusto and Emerson in the 4.5mill and lower bracket if you want to know who to avoid. Also brought in Estupinan and Porro but might change again before the deadline.

I'm more impressed that you're in a position to be able to transfer in a striker, with players in other positions dropping like flies.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,404 ✭✭✭wrestlemaniac

Any thoughts on using the free hit? Seriously considering it as it gets let's me keep Bowen, Salah, TAA etc. long term and allows a punt on Haaland, as I can ensure a good bench in case he's a no show

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,952 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

I had thought about it - reasons not to do it would be:

Who am I bringing in that I actually trust to perform and return a decent score that justifies playing the FH. What mid field players do you want? what strikers do you want. No one really has form.

How many points do you reckon the FH is worth, in order for it to be worthwhile playing? If you can get 10 players with a -8 is that better?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,815 ✭✭✭bantee

-4 to field a possible 11 if Nkunku recovers to feature: TAA & Salah to Estupinan & Foden.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,404 ✭✭✭wrestlemaniac

Well a -8, and playing 10 players such as Gordon, Solanke, with no subs versus a possible Estupinian, Odegaard, Doku, Foden, JPedro, Haaland FH team with suns if needed.

I'd be hoping for a 20 point swing in total, half of which you'd be getting from hits and a full playing team alone. Spread the chances of any one of the above having a good week by having all of them.

Plus a chance to gain ground if Haaland plays. Put him as captain and have a solid vc.

Just think it may be a good risk week to play it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,640 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

Went early on Bowen, burnt this time.

As someone who goes early on transfers to protect team value I'd disagree with a lot of the I told you so narrative. It's happens so rarely that you get burnt like this. I'd say it's 4 seasons since the last time, might have saved up to 5million over that period. A -4 could sort it out now. Worth it IMO but each to their own.

Not sure what to do here, will probably just leave as is, decision over whether to play Gordon or Braintwaite, probably Gordon

Exactly no one ever thinks of all the times it goes right which might allow you an extra 2 big moves per season maybe which could be huge.

You’re still not in bad shape (I’ve 6 flags myself so will likely need a -4 to get 10 out) because you’ve 2 subs that will definitely play so worse case scenario you’ve 11 fit players. Bowen and TAA injuries don’t sound serious so with 1 game in the next 3 weeks I think the play is to keep them.

I'm thinking having 25% of my money tied up in Salah/Son is a waste of funds.

Might restructure so I can get EBH in for Alvarez in the next week or so.

    Any love for Ivan Toney?

I actually didn't until now. Tough run alright. He did score 2 against city last season and 1 against Spurs I think. Just thought people might want to get ahead of the curve. He could be highly owned by end of February

Thinking Hwang/Son to Diaby/Foden. Was set on Bowne and then JWP but with another game before their league game its hard to justify. Although KDB coming back is potentially bad news for Foden I think I'll be getting Son back for him soon anyway. Will leave Salah on the bench for this GW

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Without looking at the stats, I'd say that Toney has a good record in games where Brentford can sit back against the 'bigger' sides in a counter attacking fashion. Granted, those games would have included Mbuemo too.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,680 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

Would be a luxury transfer for most people.

A lot will have Salah/Son/TAA/Bowen issues to resolve 1st.

Does he start, play 60 or come on for last 20?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,383 ✭✭✭✭gammygils

    Did Trent/Son to Perv/Foden for a hit

Reluctantly sold Trent but only have 2 definite defenders in Saliba and Porro

Lascelles and Taylor my other 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,416 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

    Might take a hit.

Looking between Walker & Estupinan. Walker has a chance of a DGW in 25 which is very tempting but I already have double Man City. Estupinan has a longer run of favourable fixtures.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,771 ✭✭✭Dr. Bre

Estupinan in for trent. To get Trent back in I will have to get rid of Tripp.

I have no bench this week so need all eleven to start.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,039 ✭✭✭Gusser09

    Salah to Saka.

I'll deal with Son next week. Dont think it worth a -4 this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭sheroman01

People bringing in Foden - any concern over his minutes, now that KDB is back? I'm torn between bringing Foden in, or playing it more safe with Richarlison.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,369 ✭✭✭Porthallian

I pulled the trigger on an early WC so just mulling over options alongside Watkins and Alvarez/Haaland.

FWIW I do think Toney goes straight back into the starting 11.

Anything think Werner gets a start or decent minutes off the bench? Against a shaky Utd team and only 6.5m. Tempted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,815 ✭✭✭bantee

Not for a few GWs anyway, KDB was quoted himself during the week saying that his own minutes will be managed very tightly for a few weeks so I'd say Fodens minutes are more steady for another while. That's what swung me towards him over Jota.

Does anyone know if Nkunku will be back this weekend? I'm struggling to field 11.
