Andy hamilton supposed to have dropped out of phase 2 uk

He's playing in the Modus Super Series. I'd say he might play on Sunday and try win a card outright.

Steve Lennon, Michael Flynn and Shane McGuirk all win their first round matches.

Keith Rooney lost and Niall Culleton 5-3 down atm.

OoM points awarded from L32 stage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Jon O'Shea puts out Scott Waites. Not the greatest averages between them

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Lennon and McGuirk through to L32 and at last 1 OoM point.

O Shea yet to play and Flynn out at L64 stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

O Shea out at L64 stage.

Steven Lennon through to L16 and Shane McGuirk up 5-3 v Lee Cocks in his L32 game

edit - McGuirk through as well

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Lennon and McGuirk both through to the L8 as both won 6-5.

Lennon came back from 4-0 down to win, the last leg saw loads of missed doubles from both players before Lennon crawled over the line.

    Lennon into semi final

Shane McGuirk loses 6-3 in QF to George Killington

UK: Borland vs Boulton; Lennon vs Killington

EU: Landman vs Kist; Dragt vs Vandenbogaerde

    Lennon 3-0 up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,730 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Went 4-0 then I decided to watch because I wanted to savour George getting deservedly thrashed; then it goes 4-1

Still despise Killington after his actions when Waites threw a 9-darter against him last year:

Lennon in the final! Versus what is likely to be Willie Borland for the Tour Card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Lennon into final with 6-2 win. One win away from getting his card back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

That's his card secured, well done Steve

Not yet, if he loses the final he'd need at least one more point, possibly two, to get his card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

5 points may well be enough. But if he loses the final he may need one more OoM point to be sure to be sure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Don't the two finalists get a card? thought it was that way in previous years?

    mayber i'm mistaken..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    No winner each day only.

Then the top 10 on the OoM. Top 14 in EU school.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,730 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Five points is good, but there's still three more days to go; and if the players who scored 2 or 3 today can repeat that every other day this week, you'll need at least 6 or 7 to really be in with a chance.

Last year UK had 9 cards and the cutoff was 6 points +12 leg diff; while EU had 10 cards and the cutoff was 7 points.

    Ah ok.

He's well placed anyway and playing well it seems, so fingers crossed

Chris Landman vs Martijn Dragt for today's EU card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,730 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

    LENNON IS BACK ON TOUR

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,760 ✭✭✭roosterman71

Lennon does it. Averaged over 96. Fair play to him

Moot point now. Fair play Steve. Great to get it back on first attempt.

Word for Willie Borland too, was last man through stage 1. Only got in on legs won and made the final today

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,730 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Dragt wins a last-leg decider in the EU.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Shane McGuirk potentially plays Fallon Sherrock second round if he overcomes Mark Dudbridge

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Shane comes back from 5-2 down to beat Dudbridge 6-5. Checkouts in the last 3 legs...113, 147 and then 100 to win a deciding leg in 12 darts against the throw.

    John O Shea also through

Niall Culleton and Michael Flynn both out

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Andy Baetens out in the L128. The WDF Champ on 0 points after two days.

Patrick Quinn beaten in L128 stage, Keith Rooney beats Dean Forde in all Irish encounter.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

O Shea wins 6-1 in his L64 match to get his first OoM point on the board

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,570 ✭✭✭celt262

McGuirk soiling the togs here was 4-1 up 4-4 now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,251 ✭✭✭VillaMad

Despite just losing to Fallon Sherrock, I think Shane McGuirk still has the best chance of a tour card amongst the remaining Irishmen. He has been there or thereabouts over the past few years and just not been able to get over the line.

Don't see any of the others being up to the standard. O'Shea can play well at times, but struggles to keep up the averages.

I agree. McGuirk definitely has the most potential but he has a big 2 days ahead of him now. I thought he would have gotten a tour card by this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    O Shea into L16

Willie Borland now on 7 OoM points minimum and that will be enough to get him a card

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Danny Lauby on a good run today. Wonder if he'll finally get a tour card

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,730 ✭✭✭TheChrisD

Today's card battles are coming down to:

    • UK: Matthew Dennant, Danny Lauby, Dom Taylor, and either James Hurrell or Robert Grundy
    • EU: Jules van Dongen, Benjamin Drue Reus, Jelle Klaasen, or Patrick Geeraets

Also, an observation from the order of merit rankings - only 7 players in the UK and 9 players in the EU have scored points on both days so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Klassen wins the EU one. Both players averaged 99 and went to deciding leg

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

And what a deciding leg too. Both were on 81 after 9 and but Klaasen broke the throw to win in 11 darts. Impressive stuff.

John o Shea, Keith Rooney also through

    And Patrick Quinn

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

McGuirk will need a big run tomorrow.
