Absolutely outrageous that the NBCI, the serious crime squad, raided his house and the elderly mans over a trivial non issue, then that it took them three years to investigate it is just monumentally stupid.

Haven't they got enough real crooks to go after or something?

Be very careful about just taking a media story and thinking every bit of information is provided.

You can be near certain there's more to this than just giving someone a bicycle. The garda might be putting that out in the public domain to elicit they type of response we see here.

Remember Gda Paul Moody had an "exemplary record" and went though garda training and vetting until a complaint was made and they found out he was a violent coercive bully and he is now in mountjoy.

I’d struggle to have any sympathy for any member of AGS now after the way a large number of them have behaved recently. The innocent homeless man filmed being battered on the evening of the riot , the ordinary people of Roscrea being attacked while peacefully protesting are just 2 examples . A bunch of government thugs and bullies who only grow a set of balls when they deal with harmless ordinary people but soon back down when faced with the real hardened criminals who laugh in their face . I’m sure there are plenty of good people in the organisation but the majority are bad news . No wonder they struggle to get anyone to join and have had to rewrite standards to fill spaces . I think they have lost a large section of the population through their abhorrent behaviour when at one time they had the support of the majority of the public and it was only criminals who hated the sight of them

Nope. Failed to do the paperwork. A Garda staff member officially reported it. I'm afraid the days of a quick word etc are long gone.
