Lads, I know I'm bringing the Irish average up but some should talk to your GP...

Well, from my couple of visits to Czechia, the young ladies there are absolutely stunning - I'm a gay man and they were turning my head! 😁😁 That beautiful combination of the best of Slavic and Germanic genes.

Hungarian men are.... rather well endowed. 😉

The Financial Times did a great podcast series called Hot Money about the original owners of the main porn sites and who owns them now, well worth a listen. A hell of a lot of porn videos are made in Czechia as well.

The second series is even better, the Kinahans, Super drug cartels including the mafia, luxury Dubai hotels and villas, and how the Iranian government was connected to his downfall.

That map is definitely not true... were the men in each country asked about their dick size? If so, a lot of bragging and exaggeration methinks! 😁

Or was a sample from each country measured up for this study?

Irish men are in no way endowed with the second smallest willies in Europe.

You're right of course. Most of this kind of data is self-reported (if not completely fabricated) and therefore country comparisons are to be taken with a pinch of salt. In that regard maybe it shows that we're among the most honest men in Europe.

https://vividmaps.com/hunger-map-of-europe-1918/ The map is dated December 1, 1918. The armistice with Germany was less than a month old. Most of the Central and Eastern European countries were in revolutionary chaos.

Note the intervention in the north of Russia.

Luftwaffe aerial photo of Dun Laoghaire, November 1940

The photo may be labelled as "Kingstown" but a close inspection shows 1930s development that was definitely not there pre-1920.

Well how big is your sample size? I think it makes sense. We need more inward migration from Africa is what we need, to boost our numbers.

Don’t want to cause a ruckus. But the black men = big mickey thing is a proven racist fallacy.

It was started in the US south to dehumanise black men and make them seem more menacing to white women.

It's not a complete fallacy they do tend towards being bigger but the average is only an extra centimetre or two.

Just as idle speculation I wonder if the origin has more to do with uneven distribution of shower vs grower based on ethnicity than overall erect size.

I think it’s more to do with how slaves were bred in the US and Caribbean.

Penis size is proportional to physical size, on average. Black men were selectively bred to be bigger and stronger as slaves. That’s why all of the fastest 100m times were run by the descendants of slaves and the NBA/NFL I’d full of giants.

Funny then that the average height for black males in the US is lower than the average for white males.

There is very little evidence for any signficant amount of selective breeding of slaves in North America or the Caribbean. That this happened is largely a myth.

They were not bred like cattle, even though the were treated like livestock.

The strongest and largest people were more likely to survive the voyage and the horrible working conditions. The African slave traders knew what was prized and only send the larger, stronger slaves on the ships.

So maybe “selective breeding” is the wrong term. But there was a selection made for size and strength

Is that true? If it is I suspect poor childhood nutrition is the answer, black people are poorer on average.

Obviously they wanted slaves who would survive the voyage - a high proportion did not, but you couldn't really tell from a visual appraisal who would or would not. Slaves on the voyage died of dispair, they died of suicide, they died of infectious diseases. You couldn't really tell who would give way to any of these.

They didn't really care how long a slave might survive after sale at the market, beyond the fact that a slave who looked fit and strong would fetch a higher price at market. But it made sense to purchase and transport even slaves who were likely to fetch a lower price, so long as that price exceeded the cost of purchase and transport. (Plus, of course, those slaves were cheaper to purchase in the first place — what matters to the trader is not the absolute sale price, but the difference between the sale price and the purchase price.)

The main pricing factors were age and sex. Adolescent and young adult men fetched the highest prices. This didn't mean selecting for size or strength. A slave of the right age and sex but of average size/strength fetched a higher price that a slave who was too old, too young or too female, even if of above-average size/strength.

As for breeding slaves in the Americas/the Caribbean, there is no evidence of that slaveowners engaged any selective breeding for size or strength at all.

    I already acknowledged that.

Edit: my post is updated. I meant to say “they were NOT bred like cattle”

when i hear this story being espoused, it's usually from people depending on supposition. and it's got a 'truthiness' too it which gives it viral legs.

there may have been unconscious selective breeding occurring, but until i see a source pointing at useful research, it's nothing more than an untested theory. but one which taps into an (intended or not) line which racists will latch on to, that black men are bigger/more impervious to pain/to be feared more etc.

so i'm very wary about it.

FWIW i once did give it some credence; whatever source i first read about it in seemed credible. i've certainly retreated from that now.

No . Selective breeding was exactly what went on . In a book years ago I saw an illustration of a pamphlet or something comparing slaves and livestock (Not sure if cattle or horses) and how you should breed them for the best results.

Some states (most importantly Virginia) produced slaves as their main domestic crop. The price of slaves was anchored by industry in other states that consumed slaves in the production of rice and sugar, and constant territorial expansion. As long as the slave power continued to grow, breeders could literally bank on future demand and increasing prices. That made slaves not just a commodity, but the closest thing to money that white breeders had. It's hard to quantify just how valuable people were as commodities, but the Sublettes try to convey it: By a conservative estimate, in 1860 the total value of American slaves was $4 billion, far more than the gold and silver then circulating nationally ($228.3 million, "most of it in the North," the authors add), total currency ($435.4 million), and even the value of the South's total farmland ($1.92 billion). Slaves were, to slavers, worth more than everything else they could imagine combined.

In particular the strongest males were paired with the healthiest females https://www.amazon.com/dp/1613738935/

It is true. Average height for white US males is 5'10". Average height for black US males is 5'9". Also, how would that also not apply to black people during the time of slavery? Do you think their owners were feeding them any more than they absolutely had to?

Medical examination data maintained by the CDC shows white (average height of 5-foot-10 rounded to the nearest inch) and black (5-foot-9) men tend to be significantly taller than Asian (5-foot-7) or Hispanic (5-foot-7) men.
