Cherrywood Vs Dun laoghaire

Have you been up to cherrywood lately ?

In response to the other posters comments, cherrywood has lot more than it used to have. New schools, shops, parks, etc

Its difficult to say how Cherrywood will evolve.

There are plans for a town centre but at the moment there isnt much there.

The area will be a construction site for years to come, but it should ultimatley be a nice location.

I dont know how much social housing is allocated to the area. That is something worth considering.

New builds tend to have 20% minimum social housing nowadays, as the govt tries to reduce its housing list.

But the councils are also buying/renting additional social homes on top of that 20% allocation, wherever they can.

If you enjoy the sea and dont need ready access to city centre, DL would be a better bet I would say.

It does, if you are near the DART.

But the Luas is much more frequent and reliable that the DART.

DART is out of action all weekend as an example.

But yes, you can drive quickly over to the sea from Cherrywood.

its much less frequent than the Luas.

Thats the main draw back.

The DART is every 10 minutes during peak and It’s so much faster than the LUAS
