It's complicated 😂, I would say it's not for beginners.

If DIY own batteries would recommend the LiFePO4, a lot safer than li-ion.

The NKON cells are about €100 per kWh (plus VAT and delivery), which is the cheapest we have ever seen brand new LiFePO4. Lots of people are buying them. NKON is also an EU based company, so would give a "local" presence from a legal point of view. I haven't dealt with them myself, but their support seems to be good.

They are overwhelmed at the moment though and their supply line is severely compromised because of the situation in the Middle East / delays going through Suez
