Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Poor tackle from Quansah

Inexperience showing there. But he'll learn from it

Needed a bit more welly on that ball from Diaz to Darwin to put him in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,410 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Need to start working the keeper. Barely had a shot on target the entire Arsenal game and first 25 minutes of this one.

That looked a sore one on Jota.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,792 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

One of the angles on that challenge looked awful in slow motion, it appeared to be studs to shin.

    Nice

    Jota with the header

    1-0

    At last jota

Jesus the keeper was awful there. Just jumped into his own player.

Load of big centre-halves in the box from both sides and Jota is the one who climbs highest.

I can't understand this thing with Trent in the middle at all.

We have 3 good central players there already, but in possession after 10 or 15 seconds we bring Trent into the middle as well, so we have 4 lads in each other's way trying to essentially do the same thing within the width of the centre circle, and nobody providing width on the right in particular. Endo and Mac are stepping out there at times, but it's all square pegs in round holes and there's no flow to it.

The best thing about Bradley is he just does what it says on the tin, up and down the side at pace and direct

Jota from a corner again -

Easiest header Jota will ever have, Trafford had a shocker there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,778 ✭✭✭✭McDermotX

    Solid yellow-cardsmanship from Endo

Yup, at this stage either actually just make him a CM and play a right back, or keep him at right back. This dual-position thing made sense last season with a creatively inept midfield, but this season he’s causing more problems than he solves.

    Endo knows when to Endo.

To be fair, its seems to be the trend with all the top teams. Started with City, then Arsenal and now us...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭mormank

Lol! Konate got a booking for less than that foul on Diogo in the box against Arsenal. I wonder if we will get reffed the same as everyone else after Klopp goes? The refs clearly have it in for him and us for years now. I for one am tired of it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,100 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Thought the ref had been doing well up till the goal, but looks to be giving everything to Burnley since then. Clear foul on Nunez there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,100 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Brownhill got a yellow for the foul on Diogo. Or do you mean the potential pen where Diogo dropped? Think he was just a bit too far into the ‘looking for it unnaturally’ category for that one.

59,896 is the official attendance, not quite the capacity of 60,250 but a great crowd to be in for every game from now on.

    Feck off

    O'Shea free header

Any Burnley threat is coming down our right hand side.

And they’ve scored from a corner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,900 ✭✭✭✭klose

A header from the penalty spot ffs

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 33,308 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

    Joke defending. Diaz and Endo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,410 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

All came from the Burnley winger going past Trent so easily right on the touchline. Led to the corner.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,100 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Great header, but made way too easy for him.

Back to back games we're gifted a goal only to gift one back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,532 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Alissons starting position would have been better, he'd not have dived to save that, he'd have plucked it from the air, Kelleher poor there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭mormank

Sure they have gotten most throw in and corner kick decisions correct but that was a foul on Diogo in the box and no pen. As usual any big decision goes against us.

But either way I'm talking more about the last few years really. It's been a trend for years now that the refs are biased against us. And sure this season the entire integrity of the competition has already been destroyed when they failed to give us a clear goal against Spurs. And I'm not exagerating, for me that decision with all the replays and everything they have these days is beyond unforgivable, not to mention all the other horrendous decisions where its one punishment for us and something less for the rest of the league the following week.

    Give over.

Defenders taking the blame for that one. 100%

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,100 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Ah in fairness it was powered perfectly right into the top corner - no blame on Kelleher there. Plenty of blame in the lead up to it though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,519 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I thought his starting position looked good tbh, so good I'm a little surprised he didn't get closer and he seemed to fall over as he dived.

    No marking tho

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 249 ✭✭Tommysocks11

Trent getting beaten too easy in lead up to that goal, can't wait for Bradley to be back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 420 ✭✭BRYAN Is Ainm Dom

And so far he is right. So who's the idiot, not him by look of things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,584 ✭✭✭mormank

Yeah the Diogo one. Look at a replay of what Konate got sent off against Arsenal for and please tell me what the difference is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,660 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

Plenty of blame to go around, I wouldn't say Kelleher was blameless but it's a well placed free header. Really poorly defended.

Terrible performance so far. So flat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,594 ✭✭✭kingshankly

once again we find ourselves fortunate to go in 1-1 at half time probably worse first half than Arsenal taking the opposition in to account

it’s crazy how much weaker we are in defence with Trent in instead of Bradley

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,532 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Ball was well on it's way when he reacted, but Kelleher was floating when the header was made, he was mid bounce, a point where no feet were on the ground, by the time he landed that bounce ball was half way to it's destination , hence the late reaction look of it, bad footwork.

Need big 2nd half here poor 1st half

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,374 ✭✭✭robwen

Did Klopp get yellow carded while we were being shown a replay

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,174 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

Poor first half performance. Deserve to be level

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,843 ✭✭✭dmigsy

Kenny Cunningham is so full of ****. He's just said how Liverpool aren't like City and have to start well to win games. That's Liverpool who've come from behind more than anyone this season. Absolute waffler.

  • Registered Users Posts: 976 ✭✭✭AdrianG08

Honestly think Trent is going to have a battle on his hands under a new boss. Klopp indulges him, next boss is going to want someone who can defend.

I'm probably in the minority, but he's not that indispensable when he's on the ball either, a lot of rearranging of chairs is needed to highlight TAA's strengths.

Not good enough defensively to be a full back, not quick enough to be a wingback and not press resistant enough to be a top midfielder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,100 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Poor first 20 minutes - much better from 20 to 45 though once we settled, and then poor for the goal at the end.

if we come out and play like (or better than) we did for that stronger 25 minutes we’ll be alright.

Very flat performance. You’d wonder have a few of them been feeling the after affects of the flu that swept the camp.
