The ring will likely be centre of pitch, yes? What capacity could they get? I know it’s 82000 seating, but what numbers they aim for? Loads seats be in the pitch I assume

I'm sure your group are no more weird than the 70 or so people who her fights barely register on their radar. Her being a pioneer in womens boxing does mean that she generates interest from casual fans.

The statistical probability of getting a reliable read of a population is very dependent on the sample size. I would say a sample size of 70 or my sample size of my group render our comments as opinions rather than fact. And both are equally valid and probably indicate how difficult it will be to accurately predict how many people (over the 9000 that was at the 3 arena) would actually buy a ticket to see her next fight.

to get the fight in Croker,Hearn will have to massage poor Pat into thinking he is not 'Irish' if he doesn't support the event.

That the GAA are bullies who will not provide their facilities to aggrandise the promoters and their camp followers.

He played that card immediately after the bout, in other words get Pat wooded up to lash out the credit card to make him a bit of coin.

Will Pat be able to resist the hype which will come ..and soon while the issue is fresh.

    Watch this space.

I think Pat might be a bit cuter than Eddie thinks.

Pat won't give an fck that it's dearer to rent Croker than Wembley, he'll see the comparison is flawed. He won't take the anti-GAA bait this time. Flash Englishmen don't go down that well in Ireland.

Pat is kind of sick of his money being wasted already, he won't see boxing promoters or millionaire boxers as people that his Government should use his money to help.

Unfortunately, I can see this becoming a PR disaster for Katie if they repeat the line they took on Saturday night. If they want Croke Park they need to negotiate it quietly, otherwise there will be a backlash. I would imagine the GAA aren't in a mood to help Hearn at this stage, he has a lot of ground to make up.

Pat just loves a nite out, lads....

Could be two snails fcuk%ng, and if marketed properly, Pat's there!!!

Spot on Bee. Easily manipulated, sniff of 'de paartie' and the camper van is dragged outa the 'back shed'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,896 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

It won't affect Katie, she'll be seen as an innocent bystander.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,896 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

You know who Ireland's most popular sports star was every year from 2016 to 2022? It was Katie. She got knocked down to second this year behind Johnny Sexton.

Why does Eddie Hearn think the taxpayer should fund him making a profit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,694 ✭✭✭Feisar

Surely websites that ya get tickets from would be able to gauge interest? Did the 3Arena sell out instantaneously? Herself was trying to get Pink tickets last week was it and didn't manage to get any was in ques and waiting rooms on ticketmaster. Dad was mad keen to watch the first and second fights, no mention of going to either though and no mention of us going to nr 3 either. If the Rumble in the Jungle was on in Croker I'm not sure we'd be bothered going to sit in the Davin Stand. Are we maybe missing the corporate angle? Maybe companies would be mad to buy 100 tickets and divvy them out to clients etc. Dunno.

First they came for the socialists...

Correct….. cretins who pay to go to ‘Vegas’ to see fights will be conned by this ‘trilogy’ shïte.

Hearn is a smart cove.. Watch the angle he takes to wind up poor Pat.

No, there were tickets available on the week of the fight, albeit, pricey.

There is no boxer alive that could sell out Croker to an Irish crowd, and that includes Katie.

I see the triology is confirmed for May in the 3 arena. No Croke Park event. There goes any opportunity to get tickets.

Hopeful whoever wins/loses, it’s the bloody end of it..

They actually reduced alot of the prices 3 weeks before the fight to shift them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,896 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'd have preferred she fought Armanda Serrano again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 496 ✭✭reclose

Serrano will only fight 3 minute rounds now so maybe that’s not an option for Katie now.

  • Posts: 13,688 ✭✭✭✭ Celia Gifted Concrete

Serrano got what she wanted off Taylor - clout and money.

Serrano and Jake Paul conned the fans. She was injured, they knew about it and didn't disclose it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 56,599 ✭✭✭✭walshb

I think the Jake bubble and allure burst when the mighty fumbles beat him. Nobody gives a fiddlers about his boxing.

Was tickets available all the way to fight week last time. I don't see it being any different this time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,390 ✭✭✭GiftofGab

I was waiting for the second they were released. Almost all the tickets were sold out in a matter of minutes. The only one left were about €800. So I'd imagine it was easy enough to get a €800 ticket but not a regular priced one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,896 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I've no interest in this third fight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭flasher0030

Loads of people selling on their tickets from the last fight - right up to an hour or 2 before it was due to kick off. I could have got a ticket on Toutless or Adverts for €70, but the a$$ fell out of me at around 6 bells cause we had Christmas party on the night before, so I gave it a miss. For the 3rd one, I'll make sure I am in decent shape on the Saturday, and will pick up a cheap(ish) ticket during the day.

"Just an update on talks with the Katie fight. I have agreed to a massive purse reduction to make this fight happen financially as this was what I was told was the hold up from the fight being agreed," Cameron wrote on Instagram.

"The reason is because I wanted to create my own legacy.

"Now it looks like Katie will take a 'keep busy' fight and avoid me as I think she knows that certain things that went her way in the last fight won't happen again.

"Sorry to the actual boxing fans who wanted to see this fight but the trilogy not happening is down to Katie and her team and not me."

Postponed now because of a medical issue with….. Mike Tyson 🙄

This so- called. ‘Sport’ is about as rotten as it gets.

Can’t understand how folk are taken in by the individuals behind it.

Do you just log in to every sport's forum to tell them how bad their sport is?

This is the third sport now that I've seen you whinging about.

And you never offer anything other than criticism and lies. Your opinion is worthless!
