    Exactly right.

I'm not sure how he can have been cleared of inappropriate behaviour. If this material is genuine then it is a litany of inappropriate behaviour. Constant sexual innuendo, pestering for photos and video calls on her private time and so on. He's like a short, boring version of a Mad Men character.

Red Bull will look very bad if they paid a load of yes men to play this down. when, prima facie, there was a whole lot of substance to it.

Whatever about his job, he'll be doing well to hold onto the marriage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,037 ✭✭✭Augme

He's already basically admitted that the leaked conversations are real. Whether people deem that as inappropriate will be the subjective piece.

The only way he could have been cleared of inappropriate behaviour is if he was never investigated for it. From what I have read, the accusations used against him have been for "inappropriate behaviour" and or "controlling behaviour". I wouldn't be at all surprised if the investigation was purely on "controlling behaviour". I don't how anyone could keep a straight face and claim he didn't behave inappropriately.

If those messages are real, the next question is how Junior is the other member of staff. Because the power dynamic of him being the boss and her being quite junior is very different than if she was in the senior echelon of rbr. I'm guessing she's junior though, which puts this into sexual harassment territory.

It also puts the investigation into serious doubt as to what they did or didn't investigate.

If these are genuine, it could be curtains for Horner. If they are not genuine, then red bull need to prove they aren't and get out ahead of the story.

Its all kicking off. Media frenzy. "A grubby stain on F1 that wont go away".

Full google drive dump here now available:

79 entries. Quite clearly his PA. From this its easier to see where the controlling aspect comes into it. Looks like she regretted it but he wanted to keep it going. Avoid entry 76 🤣. Fackin hell. Its as much embarrassing as anything else.

Horner is done if this is genuine

I think it's all mostly harmless. Yes he should not have been flirting with her he is married but she encouraged him at times too and then asks him to stop especially on the post about the leggings. He should be lucky she deleted them posts. Most of the pictures tgat we see look harmless.

    Peace and long life.

    Most, not all.

Can't see him surviving. If it was just words then that's different.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,333 ✭✭✭✭Ghost Train

The only info in statement yesterday was that he has "...always denied the allegations"

If it’s true, I’m not sure he survives it. In general terms it looks tame enough but most companies will have zero tolerance for that behaviour towards a subordinate, and then doing nothing essentially sends a message that they find that kind of behaviour from the top of the house is acceptable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,040 ✭✭✭jj880

Sending stuff like this then deleting and asking her to delete. Tame but he knew himself it was out of order with his PA. He will be seen as a clownish figure after this also. Spanxy Horner the Red Bull F1 team leader. Will be surprised if he survives.

He never denied the content in the messages wasn't real or was made up. If it was fake, there would be no reason to not come out and say that straight away.

Defo out of boundaries. RedBull might have cleared him off any issues, in the public eye he is now damaged. Wondering what his wife said about that.

Hamilton surprised with pace of Merc in practice sessions.

Would be a sickener if Merc turns out to be competitive and then he moves.

Assuming the screenshots are genuine - while a good chunk of the messages are harmless, it seems to get to the point where it’s no longer reciprocated and he’s pestering her video call at night/shower etc. She calls him up on it at some stages and you’d wonder whether the wording would be stronger if it wasn’t her boss.

As someone else said, he appears to know he’s in the wrong too when he’s deleting the conversation and asking her to also. Seems to be reference to her having a way out in the later messages too when the workplace relationship is strained.

Like there was clearly sharing of some kind done to help him “explode” at some stage which you’d question in its own right. Like at best, it’s highly inappropriate. Imagine it ticks multiple boxes on sexual harassment.

Bit of a mess for Red Bull regardless. Hope it gets sorted quick so we can go back to the racing.

Well the independent investigation cleared him, so that is it sorted tbf.

AweI did not see that one. It was deleted from the ones I seen. That's not good.

They can't walk away from these screenshots assuming they are genuine. Because it either means they don't see any issues with these (problem for Red Bull), they weren't considered part of the investigation (problem for Red Bull) or they didn't come to light until now (meaning they need to revisit the investigation).

How will they handle it today I wonder with practice and quali...

Red Bull's parent company hired the barrister for that investigation and then tried to keep it all private. Not surprising to see why.

Horner's next press conference could be a circus. After all he's free to comment since the "independent" investigation has concluded.

Not true pace / gap to others.

Max even said they were concentrating on long runs and were running on reduced power.

It’s sexual harassment, Horner is done. Red Bull’s reputation badly damaged by this.

It'd probably be in the team's best interests if he leaves Bahrain for the rest of the weekend and assess the situation before Saudi Arabia.

Lads those texts aren't normal or appropriate between a boss and employee. If you can't see that then I don't know what to tell you.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,036 ✭✭✭✭Busi_Girl08

Reminds me of a famous moment a few years ago when Vettel was having an absolute 'mare in his final season in Ferrari, it showed him having a disaster of a pitstop, and then the camera panned over The Office style to Carlos Sainz looking on in horror/bemusement, because that was his seat for the next season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,040 ✭✭✭jj880

Looks like RB decided to roll the dice that the evidence wouldn't get out. Now the bed is well and truly shat.

You'd wonder what that barrister was smoking. A suit for hire by the looks of it. Can you imagine the barrister and Horner going through those messages 1 by 1? 🤣 Horner must be 1 smooth talker to even get this far without being sacked.

THe barrister looked at it through the eyes of the law. The court of public opinion, still a valid court in this case, has lower burdens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,040 ✭✭✭jj880

Sure. Maybe she'll get her own barrister (not paid by Red Bull) for a second opinion.

The FIA and F1 bosses are due to meet to discuss the situation this morning. Red Bull will surely have to let him go to save face, avoid distraction etc.
