Would be surprised (though obviously delighted) if we can do it. Some great young players in that England team.

Maybe but it gives others a chance which is great as 20s still very much a development grade. So good in long term

If we can contain their openside and get parity in the scrum, we can pinch a win.

Serious test , particularly without Gleeson, but expect it to be more exciting than main event.

English pack will eat us alive, I think they brought back Spicer to bring some ballast to 2nd row , we will be going backwards at a rate of knots .

The scrum could be an issue alright, the maul is not just about power though and referrees are usually quick to call a first stop, but we definitely don't want to be conceding lineouts anywhere inside our 10m line, we've come up against big packs before and survived so I'm hoping it will be a close game. Having Spicer in there as extra Ballast should help.

Can't understand why Calvey isn't included? Boyd is a lh?

i think Boyd mostly played LHP in schools and on induction to academy was down as a loosehead i think. But yea he can play both.

I'm kind of surprised no Berman and also no Deay? Thought they might get drafted in. McKillop and Hicks as well actually. Maybe they will at world cup.

Poor from O’Connor that. Not sure what he was trying to do.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,643 ✭✭✭Shehal

30 seconds in and we've already made a bad handling error, pretty much sums up this side the last 2 round at least.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Just can’t gift them a scrum and field position like O’Connor did. It’s what England want. Scrum all day.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭Lost Ormond

Try england 7-0 from set piece in corner.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,643 ✭✭✭Shehal

If this is going to be a night of us dropping the ball every 2 phases and then getting obliterated in the scrum then the lads might as well just pack it in now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,669 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

After a brutal series of mistakes

de Klerk and McLoughlin stopped the English momentum.

Great penalty Murphy. Will need every point tonight.
