Humanitarian crisis in Dublin City. This is a disgrace. We are a rich country. It should not happen.

We’re a rich country for a few people.

Wish people would stop saying this. No wonder we are been flooded with people we can’t house.

I live week by week and I doubt I’m the only one.

Okay, I'll bite. What do you suggest as a solution? Do we conjure up more accommodation? Do we refuse entry to more destitute people? Where do you see the additional funding coming from? And, have you seen the homeless people living in tents in so many other capital cities of the world?

As for us being rich; can you afford to have less in your pocket, or to have less services available to you, to fund any solution you may have?

Net household wealth averages as more than 200k for every man, woman and child in the state.

We are just like most other Western economies.

Struggling to house people.

For a while we were an attractive place to relocate too. Loads of great benefits, whether you worked or not.

Now it's all coming home to roost. We have more people than accommodation. The numbers coming here might slow once the word gets out that you'll likely end up on the street, but I doubt it.
