Maybe he'd like to have a season with them in the CL? See how they could do.

He knows he will still have his pick of the top jobs even if he waited for another season to leave.

Bayern v Red Bull L just kicked off. Could be entertaining. Red Bull could score 3 or 4, but are capable of conceding 5.

And two good goals from Kane to salvage the three points. Injury time and all.

Since the retirement of the old guard senior management in Munich isnt what it used to be. But with mistakes being made over the years, signing Harry Kane certainly wasnt one.

Bayern dropped points again. Lovely 2nd goal from Freiburg. If Leverkusen win this weekend it's very hard to see them not winning the title.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,349 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

they're now 1.1 to win with bayern 6.5.

leverkusen win sunday they have a 10 point lead with 12 games remaining.

it'd be glorious of leverkusen do it.

regardless of how it ends, xabi alonso will be a man in high demand this summer.

Leverkusen are evens to win the league? Jez, sounds like very generous odds

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,349 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

no, its more like 10 to 1 on. put on 1 euro to win 11 cent

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,521 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

In reality it would take a bit of a collapse for them not to win it from here. Considering they are unbeaten all season and I can't see Bayern not dropping more points in the remaining games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,211 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

Ah, I read it wrong. That's the new decimal way of showing odds.

1000 would get you 1100. You still have to think it would be like buying money. No way they are losing the league from here.

Musiala refusing to sign a new contract, apparently wants to play in the EPL.

Would be a massive loss for Bayern, he is an incredible talent.

Another Kane hattrick. 4th of the season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,676 ✭✭✭adaminho

Just watching the highlights there and it's a perfect hattrick as well!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

Sky not bothering or forgetting to switch on the youtube stream of the St.Pauli v Hertha match. Infuriating!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,521 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Despite an impressive tally yesterday, Munich remain 8 points behind after Leverkusen won 2-0 this evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,401 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Saarbrücken have beaten Bayern, Eintracht and now Gladbach in injury time on their way to the Pokal semi final. Lautern up next. Great story.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

Hertha 3 - 2 Schalke at half time. No surprises the clubs are were they are in the table. Brutal defending. What a signing Reese has been for Hertha though. And with 15 goals, Tabakovic has been a brilliant signing too. They'd be a lot worse off without them.

5-2 now. Most of the Hertha matches that the Sky Sports YouTube have shown have been really enjoyable to watch. Excellent attacking but terrible defending.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

Hertha totally bossed the second half. Schalke only a couple of points off the relegation spots.

Leverkusen pull another result out in added on time. After their two comebacks in Europe against Qarabag (2-0 down in both legs at some point), they come from 1-0 down vs Hoffenheim to score twice after the 88th minute and go 13 points clear.

Note: Hoffenheim's goal scorer is Max Beier, destined to become a household name in the next few years. Quality player.

Feels like Sane is just stealing a living.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,713 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

Tuchel really cost Bayern this match and the league.

Terribly managing overall and parituclary in this match where he didnt make subs at HT and even worse waiting until 63" to make the subs.

The match was screaming for Sane to be subbed at HT

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

    13 points clear, wow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,211 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    BAyern poor.

Only CL now to play for. Can't see them getting close to winning it playing like that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,640 ✭✭✭TheCitizen

Must be something about Harry Kane. Bayern win 11 titles in a row and he turns up and the look increasingly likely to lose it this season. LOL

You can take the boy out of Tottenham…

Sadly the dream crashes, against relegation threatened Kaiserslautern. At the bottom of the Bundesliga Zwei, there are 6 teams within 3 points of each other. Kaiserslautern play three of their direct opponents in their final 7 games, so have a little bit of control, if they can win those 3 games.

At the other end it looks like St. Pauli could be ready to earn a 9th season in the top flight, having not been there since 2011. I remember the 2001-2 season better and have a jersey from then that I used to fit into :)

They have finished bottom on their last two visits, unfortunately.

After last year's collapse I'm not ruling anything out! Although I will take great pleasure in ringing my old customers in Hamburg who are HSV fans if they miss out!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

St. Pauli are very good. I'd be surprised if they didn't comfortably stay up next season.

Hertha's defense is so bad! That said, they did win and are 5 point off the playoff

HSV definitely aren't getting promoted the way they are playing. Very lucky to win today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,211 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    How bad are Bayern?

    Tuchel has ruined them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭klose

Congrats Leverkusen, incredible scenes at full time 5-0 win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

    Look at these scenes!

What a team! And the season's not over yet.

Delighted for them and I really hope they go on and go unbeaten.

Another last minute equaliser for Leverkusen to keep their unbeaten record going, incredible team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,908 ✭✭✭munchkin_utd

and Bayern seem to have steadied the ship in the race for second, with Stuttgart loosing to Bremen giving them a 3 point cushion and a 6 pointer coming up soon in Stuttgart

The race for 4th is neck and neck between Dortmund and Leipzig but ill soon be irrelevant as the Bundesliga looks like it'll be getting that 5th bonus place next year and Frankfurt in 6th are too far back to challenge either of them.

If Im not mistaken no german team has to go into a qualifier so 2nd is as good as 5th with regards to champions league qualification, and seedings are based on previous form in Europe so again no benefit coming higher in the table other than domestic prize money and prestige it seems.

Cologne beaten by Darmstadt at home. They're toast 🙁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,908 ✭✭✭munchkin_utd

yep, looks like Cologne and Darmstadt are gone but theres only 4 points separating 5 teams who could end up in the 3rd last spot

Unlike in other countries, the 3rd last in the higher division plays 3rd placed in the lower division to decide who plays in the higher/ lower division the next year, so the Bundesliga team can still survive even if they are 3rd last.

It nearly always ends in trouble if not a full fledged riot, like 1860 Munichs last ever game at the Allianz arena when they got relegated from Div2 to 3 ( and within weeks they got bumped to div 4 as they were pretty much insolvent!)

And they do it again. 96th minute equaliser to remain unbeaten - unreal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,478 ✭✭✭Acosta

Köln still have 4 games left. A real 6 pointer vs Mainz today. It's on Sky Sports Mix.

Ah, will never top Dusseldorf-Hertha Berlin! Seven minutes of extra time; after six minutes of which the ref blew the whistle for a goal kick and the fans streamed onto the pitch thinking it was over and they'd been promoted.

Took them half an hour to clear the pitch and play the last 60 seconds….

"Der spiel is noch nicht aus!" ("The game is not yet over!")

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Union Berlin host Bochum on Sunday, giving Mainz (away vs Heidenheim) a chance to jump out of the bottom 3, with a win.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,908 ✭✭✭munchkin_utd

A hard year for Union Berlin, to have done so well last season and qualifying for the champions league to being in the fight to stay in the division.

Division 2 has interesting matches on Friday with the local derby of 1st placed St Pauli (that working class club in Hamburg in the red light area) playing at 4th placed Hamburg with a win for St Pauli getting them promotion and simultaneously almost certainly leaving Hamburg in div2 next year

3rd placed Dusseldorf is playing Nürnberg simultaneously so that adds more spice to the mix as Hamburg will be keeping an eye on them too to see if Nürnberg does them a favour!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,711 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

They had this disastrous run of 9 or 10 straight defeats early in the season and it killed the season off for them.

If they can beat Bochum on Sunday, they'll be pretty much safe as they have the easier run in.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,211 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

And to think they pushed Real Madrid to the wire in the CL groups.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,711 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

Yeah, conceded two late goals in their first two games and never recovered.

Hopefully F Dusseldorf get the playoff spot and Hamburg spend another season in 2. Bundesliga. I doubt St. Pauli will be coming back down in a hurry. A very good side they are.

Hertha need to invest in the summer if they want a chance at coming back up next season. Especially in the defence.
