M7/M8 Portlaoise - Cullahill - poor quality surface? Any plans?

What’s going on with that area of motorway from the tolls at Portlaoise to beyond Cullahill. The surface is full of patches and the quality just seems lower than the rest of the entire route from Dublin to Cork.

It seemed odd that the area around the Cashel exits was all resurfaced when it was in far better condition that this section.

Is that section maintained by the toll operators? Think there’s signs up to indicate that from Direct Route

Yeah it's the PPP section, but it's really notably much worse than the rest of the road.

A year later, it’s still in a very poor state with half patches and bits of patches all over the place.

When you’re coming from Cork the quality from the merge from the M8 until just beyond the tolls is extremely patchy.

It’s surprising as there’s been far better maintenance of the entire rest of the M8/M7 Cork route. Loads of preemptive stuff done - all around the Cashel junctions etc.

Seems that PPP is just not taking good care of the surfaces.
